By Box Office Editor Ansari (Collections Provided by Abid Bollywood Trade News Network)

COMING FRIDAY
The coming Friday will witness the release of a few small projects, before the big guns start firing from December 12 onwards! The line up has Paresh Rawal’s MAHARATHI, Mandira Bedi’s MEERABAI NOT OUT, the laugh riot DIL KABADDI and Vinay Pathak’s OH, MY GOD!! All the mentioned films are set to fail at the ticket window, barring to an extent the Rahul Bose, Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan starrer DIL KABADDI.

LAST FRIDAY
Last Friday’s two releases were hit hard by the nightmare of the Bombay mayhem that the entire country witnessed. All the same, the two movies in question went the way we had predicted. While Onir’s Sanjay Suri, Sharman Joshi and Chitrangda Singh starrer, SORRY BHAI, was a non-starter from the first show itself, Abhay Deol’s OYE LUCKY! LUCKY OYE! fared better, though there is not much to write home about! But as we file this report, we hear that SORRY BHAI is in a very sorry state as shows had to be cancelled due to lack of audience but OYE LUCKY! LUCKY OYE! has picked up noticeably over the weekend.

YUVVRAAJ
As far as Subhash Ghai’s Anil, Salman, Katrina and Zayed starrer YUVVRAAJ is concerned, it could not improve its ordinary start, and that reflects in the collections. The film obtained 2.15 crores from Bombay, 60 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 2.25 lakhs from Himmatnagar, 13.50 lakhs from Rajkot, 3.75 lakhs from Jamnagar, 4.65 lakhs from Bhavnagar, 1.20 lakhs from Porbandar, 1.75 lakhs from Gandhidham, 3 lakhs from Solapur, 6.25 lakhs from Nasik, 1.20 crores from Delhi city, 17.50 lakhs from Noida, 11.20 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 16.50 lakhs from Lucknow, 3.35 lakhs from Agra, 2.60 lakhs from Allahabad, 21.25 lakhs from Gurgaon, 7.65 lakhs from Faridabad, 2.10 lakhs from Guwahati, 16.75 lakhs from Nagpur, 16.05 lakhs from Indore, 26 lakhs from Jaipur, 3 lakhs from Ajmer, 1.65 lakhs from Bikaner, 61.30 lakhs from Hyderabad and 3.65 lakhs from Aurangabad. During the first week YUVVRAAJ netted a very ordinary 12.50 crores from India. Given the fact that EROS International had procured the film for a huge sum, it looks impossible that YUVVRAAJ can recover from here, as it has also been rejected in the Overseas, grossing $288,261 from UK and $502,140 from the US.
Box Office Status: Disaster in India & Flop in Overseas.
