Q. How well is Dostana doing?
A. Its doing reasonable business thanks to good business at major multiplexes, the size of Monday drop and second weekend business will decide its fate. Overall business will vary from circuit to circuit with Mumbai and Mysore being best followed by Delhi, Punjab, Bengal and Nizam while Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan will be lower. The sales have been really good. Even those that were relectant initially are liking the music now. Dance Pe Chance has become a rage.
Personally right now I cannot get enough of the song Chalte Chalte. The music at the very begining of this song is very captivating.
I hear a lot of people are reacting very positively to the Rab Dikhta Hai song.
As I said previously the music from a sales and acceptance perspective is like that of Kamal Amrohi’s Pakeeza. Initially because it was “Hatke”, people were hesitant, but then becasue it was “Hatke” people have liked it very much. The success of this music speaks volumes about Adi’s ability and vision.
