Billion-Dollar SRK!

He earns over Rs.1.5 billion ($30 million) a year through endorsements, over Rs.10 million to grace an event, Rs.10 million per TV episode, more than Rs.150 million/Rs. 15 crores per film and has now launched a Rs.109 billion real estate project in the UAE. Shah Rukh Khan, who turned 43 on Sunday, is much more than a Bollywood superstar.
With his dimpled cheeks, toned frame, impeccable dressing sense and unmatched wit and humour, the actor has enthralled audiences worldwide for almost two decades now with films like ‘Baazigar’, ‘Darr’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and ‘Chalte Chalte’.

King Khan, as he is fondly called, wears the diadem of the actor with the biggest pocket in tinsel town - rumoured to be around Rs.16 billion (Rs.1,600 crores) with his maximum earnings coming from commercial endorsements.

Shah Rukh, the actor-turned-businessman, who earns more than Rs.300 per minute as per experts, has successfully diversified into newer avenues with the same charismatic appeal with which he rules Bollywood, just as his fan following has spread over the rest of Asia-Pacific and into Europe, North America and Africa.

After a colourful 2007 with two hits - ‘Chak De! India’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’ (OSO), Shah Rukh has left the theatres devoid of his presence this year. But the actor continues to be a phenomenon worldwide.

He made a quick profit of Rs.400 million/Rs. 40 crores across the table by selling the world distribution rights of ‘Om Shanti Om’ to Eros International for Rs.750 million as against the production cost of Rs.350 million.

The profit that he earned from the deal was apart from the remuneration of Rs.50 million that he took as the lead in the movie.

His further business commitments to his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders and his stint on TV as the host of reality quiz show ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai’ this year have kept him off the big screen.

    Yash Raj Films commenced the promotion of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi on 2nd November, the birthday of Shahrukh Khan, with a 70 seconds song promo of “Haule Haule”. This was the first time in the history of Yash Raj Films that they released the song promo prior to the music release. With a new marketing strategy, YRF installed 6-feet lenticular standees at all theatres and multiplexes, which gave the viewer a unique view of both the looks of Shahrukh Khan in the movie, when viewed from different angles.

    Akshay Kumar is one man in the film industry who is raking in the moolah like no one before be it films or television. He will pocket a record 31 crore minimum for the Venus produced De Dana Dan which includes his rumeration and a share of the profits from selling the film. The film has a budget of 60 crore mainly due to Akshay’s sky high fee.

    As for television he was paid 1.50 crore per episode for the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi and the super success of the show helped the newly formed channel establish itself. Now for the second instalment of the show, Akshay will be paid an amazing 2.50 crore per episode. When it comes to rumerations Akshay Kumar has no competition and stands head and shoulders above his contemporaries.

    Abhi,

    For your information…SRK gave the highest Income Tax for the assessment year 2008-09.I.e 32 CR.

    Akki gave only 7 cr.

    So either Akkis income is hyped and SRK is the highest earner or Akki is evading taxes.

    You better know what Akki is doing..

    All these stuff of Akki getting 31 cr is all blatant lie….Nobody in the inmdustry including SRK are getting a remunaration more than 10 cr…

    SRK is earning more because he is endorsing 39 brands whewre he is earning close to 200 Crs…From Movies SRK is earning 40 cr a year…

    Where as Akki has got onlky two endorsements and doing more movies a year to earn close to 75 cr a year…
    Rest Everything is false and propaganda..

    I can say this because i have access to the IT files of some top stars..

    I trust Income Tax department more on money than that of BOI for sure..BOI only gives income from Movies…where IT department is a reflection of your real income..Ak might earn more money from SRK as he is doing more movies per year than that of SRK.No wonder there.But when it comes to total income..SRK leads the pack by miles and make no mistakes about it…

    as I said…if Ak is earning more money…then it should reflect in the IT returns…If not then this guy is evading tax which is a crime….So this guy should immediately put behind bars for Tax Evasion…

    Whay you say Abhi…Some times it pays to be practical…

    FYI the Income Tax department is behind the bacchans for Tax evasion…

    That news was before recession..

    After recession akki would happy if he can get 25 laks per episode..

    Secondly who told that KKK is a hit..It garnered TRPs of 2.1 where as Pachi paassgot TRPs of 2.3..

    When we term Pachvi Pass as a failure then how can KKK is a hit..some double standrad this..

    Everybody knows that SRLK charges less for his movies…as he make s fortunes from Ads…

    media is promoting srk because he is successful and worthy of it
    their is no godfather of srk in the industry he established himself only on the basis of his talent.
