Singh Is Kinng is grossed an unheard of 29 crore nett over its first weekend. The gross figure is 45 crore.
The film smashed the 22 crore weekend record held by Om Shanti Om by a huge margin. The business is unbelievable all over but the business in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Bihar and Rajasthan is just out of this world. In these territories the first week business will be like the total business of superhit films like Race and Jodhaa Akbar.

i appreciate SIK success in terms of boxoffice but in terms of ppl mind and rememberance…ppl will forget such movie irrespective of its box office record in some months to come….and i m telling u this record won’t stay for longer too….RNBDJ KITES or KIRSSH 2…anyone of them will beat it!! cuz they all will release in more no. of prints…and i hope with content….!!! The imporatnce of record doesnt get reduced if it’s broken with an hour, a month or a year.
Brian Lara scored 400 one or two months after hayden scored 380. so does that mean 380 was not special.
Plus, SIK hasn’t broken the first week record yet. Let it break it, then we can talk about it.

Singh Is King grossed 59.50 crore worldwide over its first three days. This is a new worldwide record smashing the 50 crore worldwide total set in November 2007 by Om Shanti Om.
The highest worldwide total for 2008 was by Race which grossed 45 crore.

SIK record is commendable, but you also have to understand that OSO released with Saawariya and with lesser number of prints.
I am not taking away anything from Akshay but I am also very confident that RNBDJ will break this record.

all these figure r only for hype before the cinema released and also for earlier ticket sold…. public actually are not liking this movie… they r saying that their ticket cost went in vain… from monday public no more go for ths movie and it wont even cross 35 crore… at its second week “god tussi great ho” and “bachna ai hasino” will be released… so SIK wont earn more than 1 crore from 2nd week…
so total collection of SIK = 35+1= 36 crore..

I dont know why srk haters and akshay kumar is over the moon with the opening with this film…of course it will go on to break OSO’s opening week record…but after releasing a year later, with more prints, no opening day competition the film only will managed to do 5-7 crores more of OSO…Only! imagine if OSO didnt have saawariya clashing and had simialr number of prints….it may have done very close to 50 crores! anyway the film due to lacking content and entertainment would see at least 45% fall and with bachna ae haseeno coming up it will go further down to 60-70% so it will not become the highest grossing films…Ghajini and RNBDJ will break these records anyway by the end of the year!
Well Akshy has definitely being successful in last two years and we need to respecet him for this.
BO is the final parameter and i strongly believe AK is a mass superstar after SIK.
Although he has to do some work like CDI,TZP or Jodha Akbar and i am sure Akki knows this more than anybody.I am sure he would come up with some great projects too.
So at this momnent SRK,HR and Akshya are neck to neck at Indian BO especially after SIK in terms of popularity altough Akki has done more movies and given more hits than anybody in last two years..There is different story in the overseas though

I think it might even make huge money in its first week itself.. SIK does not have to wait for 12th Dec.
But I guess the name “Billo Barber” is not the one which can create a big hype. I feek the name shud be changed for the films success. I have come across few films which peeps dont watch just becoz of its title.
Anywayz lets wait and watch.. Who knows … I even felt the same way for 2Chak De india”., but it rocked.
its releasing around last week of oct n it does not have SRK in lead so it isn’t SRK film…still it will be as good as his other films nt like SIK crap

by doing multi starrer and targetted films u can not be neck to neck with mega star like SRK n super star like HR n AAMIR….dats not justification…today Bollywood is getting bigger ! so this type of multi starrers will work mostly and these targettd films 2…so its nt big….its just a pure luck

don mansoor except the Khans there is always hype about an actor..they just come and go..so Akki will have his period..and ppl will get fed up with his silly movies which are coming one after another 3/4 per year…making you feel like you are watching one silly movie the whole year from Akki..i am sure its a period and it will end
the one thing i hope that YRF learn from Akki about film promotion and hype..they cant promote their films and thats the error i think..they has to promote their films in a better way to end this flopshow…
