Singh Is Kinng re-writes box office history by collecting over 8 crore nett on its opening day in India. The box office tornado that is Singh is Kinng is likely to fetch around 28 crore nett over the weekend destroying the 22 crore record of Om Shanti Om and Race.
The big money in terms of distributor shares is made in the first week and Singh of Kinng has taken real advantage of this and despite the high prices the distributors will have recovered costs in six days.
Singh is Kinng will surpass the 32 crore distributor share of the biggest grosser of 2008 Race in 9-10 days while the 26 crore distributor share of the biggest hit of 2008 Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na will be crossed in 6-7 days. It is the fastest money spinner ever.

I dont agree…Considering that Akki has already proved last yr as well as his film collected 500 million dollars in overseas which was more than ever SRK’s (Namaste London, Heyy Babyy, Welcome and Bhool Bhuliaya ) I am not saying this on teh basis of just SIK…Akshay has already proved that he’s been consistent now over past 2 yrs or so. So let’s face the facts. Even in Tashan, Akki was the only saving grace of the film but it was not his film entirely since Saif and Anil had major roles, yet who soever has seen tashan, swear tha Akki was the only one who is watchable. That means he’s started to rise above the scripts even in below avg movies…And that’s super-star power. Infact Akki has scored in non YRF and non Dharma camps and made Sajid, Vipul Shah stars….
If AKKI is KING OF COMEDY, then SRK is KING OF ROMANCE alone…
And do u think SRK can do better action than Akki???Don’t say yes now….Akki has proved that he far far versatile….And of late, he has not come bac in his action mode….The moment he comes like in Chandni Chowk to China, he will be devastating.

I beg to differ when have proved that SRK has not been consistemt since his debut. You are couting his total yrs and claiming them to be successful??? he has had breaks in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2005,2006 and now 2008.

Yes you are right that SRK can’t do the actions, and I think if you don’t want to ignore the SAD fact that SRK was injured since long ago, infact when he was 16, since then his knee injury was there, then neck problem, so, keeping these things in mind, a big YES,he can’t do the actions, but can you say that ever in his career Akshay can do any all round, full fledged performance with decency of any type, either slightly with the touch of good humour, emotions or romance, but remember I said with decency. Well, if you don’t want to believe no one can make you believe, but the fact is here, its upto you Akshay fans to decide. And please don’t take SRK’s fans wrong that they don’t like any other actor except SRK, no he is our SUNSHINE & KING, but we do like and love other actors as well, but as its mostly or we can say 99.99999% discussion is about our dear SRK, so, we have to pen and argue it, otherwise everyone has their own price, and I wish you * particular fans * can be that much broadminded as well. So, some programs are being shown for 26 yrs. And the time for the program is so awkward, but no one says that oh, stop this program because the TRP is not good. That was only one example though, there is another example of SRK program, KAPPT, on STAR PLUS, why should the program be stopped? Whats wrong in it? Its an educational program. No, but if any ** indecent program * is shown the public will like, and this is how the people are ruining themselves, instead of loving education they love this not decent* program, and friends you know what I am saying. So, if people want to keep themselves and their children away from the education, then by all means go for it dear. In UK the same program of SRK is being shown since long, and to be honest not too many elders can make time to watch it, but still its being shown for the kids, and they are watching it. 1. i have felt that success has gone over his head..he is trying to lobby against SRK..it is clear that he has joined Mr. bachchan camp..(as u all know the famous SRK-Bachchan war)..he is making comments against SRK though indirectly…

Did u by chance see the pictures of UNFORGETTABLES tour posted here?? if not, i will suggets u go and check and show me one pic where the seats were half filled. That is the problem. Guys lie u lie so blatantly ki bolte hue bhi sharam nahi aati. When most of SRK fans have even admitted that UNFORGETTABLES tour is indeed a BLOCKBUSTER,i see no reason why u try to mislead people. Agar english parnhi nahi aati, to photo to dekh sakta ho. Go and see the pictures of the tour and then comment. OFcurse BIG B is greatest human being but by saying wrong things about the show when u dont have any knowledge or idea, u r making urself a laughing stock in front of all. And regarding SR, the movie was HIT and it clearly finds the place in 6 monthly BO report list. So stop feeling jealous and try to build sympathy of SRK by mentioning his limitations. Becuase we have never taken the support of those crutches because BIG B had a major major accident and he suffers from Asthama and Myasthania Gravis (disease of muscles) and SRK’s problem are nothing in front of this. So when we dont talk about them, why are u gaining sympathy for him?

Both SRK and Akki rock…Actually they are the only ones,along with aamir,who rule the industry!Amitabh Bacchan is,indubitably,one of the finest actors of the past decades,but you cant deny the fact that the guy has,since long,bit the dust and doesn’t show any real star power in his films..What i mean is that Big B never disappoints with his performances but to call him a one man industry TODAY is rather far-fetched!He is loved by the populace but he cannot gross big financially like a SRK,hritik,aamir or akshay kumar!This is the only thing that matters today-BO figures!Sarkar Raj has flopped and i didn’t expect less actually,considering the fact that Big B is mostly watched at home and not in multi-complexes and theaters!Also,Abhishek Bacchan is,well,to put it mildly,absolutely overrated.Yesterday only,i watched Bluffmaster again…the guy badly needs to learn a bit of acting from his parents and his wife;Even average actor Ritesh Deshmukh bypassed him in the film!All the fuss about abhishek is only because his dad is revered all over India!

I have realized that first u say something and in the very next post, u counter ur claim. First u said that BIG B was star for 16 years and now u say he is for 10 years. I won;t be surprised that ur frustration and desperation forces u to say that BIG B was never a superstar.
Just because we have proved that SRK has not had continuous stardom, u are now trying to compensate by decreasing the BIG B’s stardom years which is so wrong.

let people belive what they want to think about….No one change the reality that Amitabhs popularity is unmatched whetehr it be as a TV host, Brand embasador, a versatile actor or a star……he was popular in 1973 and he is still popular in 2008….he then also gave moviies like Alaap, chupke chupke, deewar, kabhie kabhie and he still gives movies like Nishabd, Sarkar raaj, Aaankhein, Khakee etc..

Singh Is Kinng has had a thunderous opening throughout the country as well as overseas collecting a whopping 8 crores in its very first day.
Today Akshay is the real king of the industry and in true market sense far ahead of Shahrukh who has held this prestigious title for a long time. Many of SRK’s die hard fans may not agree but from a marketers point of view Akshay is the most bankable star today. Any script can be made into a blockbuster with the magic wand named Akshay. The khiladi has a huge fan base cutting across all the regions of the country.
Starting with Namastey London, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Welcome and now Singh Is Kinng whatever Akshay has touched has turned into gold. Even in the miserable Tashan his was the only performance appreciated. Akki today is at the pinnacle of his career and said to be the highest paid actor in the industry.

Shobhaa De: Kinng is actually a joker
It’s a con job. Or… a corny job. Clumsy, clunky,pointless and boring.This is what happens when people like Bamzee get a bit too big for their boots and try to fool the public. Rubbish is rubbish. The Sikh angle is dishonest and manipulative. These guys are a bunch of losers wearing stiched, satin turbans - the kind worn by streetside magicians. Completely ridiculous and an insult to the community.
Red Hot Akshay at size zero is a shadow of his former hunky self. No wonder his performance lacks oomph and energy. As for the anaemic Katrina Kaif with her butter -won’t- melt in -her -mouth, put -on sweetness, she is as lifeless as the Sphinx.Between the two of them, the heat they generate wouldn’t light a bulb (if you are looking for a furnace, check out Mallika Sherawat in ‘Pagli or Ugli’ ).
’Singh is Kinng’ is a total dud, and I am amazed some critics gave it a 3-star rating. It makes me wonder if there is a herd mentality at work somewhere ( press show ke baad, opinions milaao, joint decisions lo, aur chamcha review likho). It is such a nonsensical effort - what Bamzee was thinking (money!)?Akshay looked yummy only during the Punjab sequences, dressed in colourful mulmul kurtas.
Since this is a full on Punjabi film, with a few scattered hindi dialogues, subtitles would have helped. Even though there is nothing to understand or follow - no plot, no story.Kirron Kher looked sooooo awful, one had to shut ones eyes and hope she’d go away. Sonu Sood didn’t get Lucky , even if his name was Lucky in the film.
Australia’s Gold Coast looked gorgeous and far sexier than Kaif and Dhupia put together. Akki can’t dance, saala! What and who does that leave? Ranvir Sheorey??? Snoop Dogg?? Oh…. how could I forget the chicken in the opening scene delivering what is by far the most energetic and convincing performance in this turkey of a film. Bilkul bekaar.Save money. Save time. Save the chicken.

Singh is not the King
What would you expect from a film whose story is derived from the title instead of the other way round? Well, since Akshaya Kumar is there I expected it to be a no brainer laugh riot. No brainer it is, but laugh riot it isn’t. The movie doesn’t have a script at all and the entire cast and crew looked confused about what they wanted to show to the audience. Sometimes it seems like a comedy, sometimes a movie with a message, but in the end it turns out to be a big joke on you.
The movie starts with Lucky Singh AKA King (of Australian underworld) being attacked on his birthday and Lucky played by Sonu Sood catching the killer by performing a gravity defying stunt. The scene is shifted to Punjab where Happy Singh (Akshaya) is making everyone’s life miserable by trying to help them. All the villagers decide to get rid of Happy by sending him on a mission to bring Lucky back to his home. Happy on his mission to bring lucky back meets Sonia (Katrina) and ends up becoming the new King. Entire movie is full of crap except only a couple of good scenes (which actually made me laugh) in the entire 2 hrs runtime. Most of the scenes don’t even make sense like why Puneet’s father resembled Mika (King’s brother), sudden change of heart of every character in the King’s gang, why Puneet surrenders so easily during the climax, well there are plenty such loopholes. The couple of scenes I liked were the one with “King ka khoon khaul raha hai.” and the one where paralysed king is used as a tray to pass things among people.
There is no story in the movie to talk about. The director should go on a sabbatical and learn some skills before trying his hands again in this trait. Akshaya Kumar should not be over confident and relook at what he is doing. Katrina Kaif is so beautiful that she I don’t care about her acting. Yashpal Sharma shouldn’t try such kind of stunts again; he is so good at playing bad guys that he should be doing more
