The two big films slated for a Diwali release have been delayed. Yuvraaj has seen a few delays in shooting while Chandni Chowk To China needs extra time for work on the special effects for the film.

Subhash Ghai’s Yuvraaj is now expected to release next year on January 23rd taking advantage of the Republic Day week and making it a Salman Khan dominated first quarter with Yuvraaj in January, Main Aur Mrs Khanna in February and Wanted in March.

Chandni Chowk To China should make it this year as long as the technical hitches do not take longer than expected. The makers have pencilled in two dates, 28th November and 5th December. A November 28th release would mean another Aamir Akshay clash as Aamir Khan’s Ghajini is set to release on that day. Last year Akshay’s Welcome and Aamir’s Taare Zameen Par released on the same day.

This leaves the road clear for a Diwali clash between Biloo Barber and Golmaal Returns. Biloo Barber was scheduled to come on 31st October while Golmaal Returns was due on 7th November but now both films will look to take advantage of Diwali week.
