Singh Is Kinng’ is Akki’s widest ever release in U.K., Europe
SINGH IS KINNG will be the widest ever day-and-date release of a solo Akshay Kumar starrer in the U.K., Ireland and Europe, courtesy of Studio 18 UK. In U.K. and Ireland, the film will preview on Thursday, 7th August with a general release on Friday, 8th August on a staggering 70 prints.
The film has received a PG certificate from the BBFC in U.K., which means that it is a complete watch for the family audience. Included in the 70 prints are 2 prints for Ireland — SINGH IS KINNG will have a day-and-date release in both Dublin and Belfast, in recognition of the growing Asian community in Ireland.
In addition to this, in Europe, the film opens on Friday on 10 prints in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. There will be a deferred release in Poland.
Confirms Tanuj Garg, Marketing & Distribution Head of UK & Europe, Studio 18, “Our WELCOME did nearly £ 912,000 in U.K. on 51 prints, making it the biggest U.K. hit of Akshay’s career. With SINGH IS KINNG, we’ve raised the bar. Given the summer holiday period, the genre of the film, Akshay’s star stature and the aggressive marketing for the film, we’re giving it an extensive release across the circuit.”

Yesteryear actor Manoj Kumar on Tuesday filed a case against actor Shah Rukh Khan, Producer and Director Farah Khan and Sony Entertainment Television seeking to delete a scene from the movie Om Shanti Om .
Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan had earlier assured Kumar that the scene, which makes fun of him, would be deleted from the movie.
However, this did not happen and the movie was screened in all theatres without the deletion of the scene.
Kumar has now approached the Sessions Court seeking a stay on the telecast of the movie, which is to be aired on August 10 on Sony Entertainment Television.
The matter will come up for hearing on Wednesday.

The movies promo looks dissapoining.Lets hope the movie is not as dissapointing as the promos.
But having all said and done the movie will open big unlike Sarkar raj.(As Akshya Kumar is really big at this moment)
But i am doubtful if it would cross the collection of OSO because it has got tough competition in the week 2 as BAH and GTGH are releasing. So week 2 collection would be not imperessive.
Lets see what happens
