Bachchans are not too happy with the way Sarkar Raj performed at the box-office.
The honeymoon between Ram Gopal Varma and his favourite Bollywood family, the Bachchans, is all but over. If sources are to be believed, the Bachchans are not too happy with the way Sarkar Raj performed at the box-office.
“Though they were okay with the product and thought it was a decent enough follow-up to Sarkar, there’s little chance of another sequel any more. The Bachchans’ professional relationship with Ramu has run its course,” says our source.
Apparently the initial euphoria over Sarkar Raj soon waned when close friends including journalists and filmmakers told the Bachchans that the only USP in the product was the Bachchans. This, according to sources, set the Bachchans thinking.
Continues our source, “After Sarkar Raj, Ramu released Contract. Everyone knows its content and box-office performance. In fact all of Ramu’s films in the last two years, barring Sarkar Raj, have been miserable flops.
Friends and even Mrs Bachchan was totally against Nishabd and its shocking theme. When the film was released, the Bachchans’s worst fears came true.”
And now comes the final blow. Apparently all the big films that RGV was planning with the senior and junior Bachchan have suddenly gone into cold storage.
“There’re too many financial liabilities riding on Ramu’s company and the Bachchans are not foolish to let any filmmaker exploit their name and presence to override those liabilities. They are extremely wary now.”
When we contacted Ram Gopal Varma, he shot back a text message saying, “I don’t know where you get these ridiculous stories from. Why would that be and what is your source?”
Amitabh Bachchan denied this latest development too. He said, “Nonsense. I’m waiting to get back to start my next with him (RGV). We are programmed to do 20 more!”

ramu seems to have lost his last resort as well!
well even sarkar wasnt that much of a movie..but in sarkar raj the error wasnt only ramu..its easy for the bachchans to put the blame on him and move on to other directors but would they score a hit with any other director?

Houston, USA August 3, 2008 10:30 am
Just up and rushing to airport to catch the flight to New York and gushing with the response to last night’s show in Houston. Packed, fully sold out stadium, right to the top of the last 4th tier and the corporate boxes too and the screams and the roar of the crowds, just unimaginable. We were told Houston would be a little staid and conservative in appreciation, but last night was something else. The front rows were up on their feet dancing and shouting. What a site and what incentive for all of us to get up there and give it our all. Fans, organisers, security, production all overflowing with compliments. This is the best we have ever seen. And the promoter took the cake. “This is the biggest and the best that I have ever done, what will I do next”.
But let me compliment Houston for giving us the most electric and moving moment last night.
It happened when I was on stage. In the middle of ‘Rang Barse’, the power to the sound went. No mike, no electronics from the keyboard, nothing. A nightmare situation for any performer and any concert. In a flash realizing the situation, the percussions and the drums who need no power, kept the beat going and every one from backstage ran on to the stage - Abhishek, Ritesh, Vishal, Shekhar, the dancers everyone and just kept clapping to the beat and dancing. And then..
The audience realizing that the power had gone and that we were keeping the action going on stage, stood up.. all of them.. and joined in to the clapping and dancing. It was electric. I had goose bumps. What a crowd. What an audience ! They had realized our predicament, but keeping with the spirit just overlooked it and joined in in a great gesture of togetherness in keeping the show going. The sound and power came back pretty rapidly and we were back to normal, but that moment for me was the moment of the night ! And the audience did it !! Thank you Houston. It is these qualities that brings you so much closer to us. It was sportsmanship during show time. Rare and so endearing. You won our hearts Houston. I shall never forget this moment.
Will come in with more on reaching NYC - and hopefully with more photos of the Houston show !!
Love you,
Amitabh Bachchan
Akshay’s show is expected to draw a minimum of 8,000 to 10,000 fans, says Ajay Virmani, President of Toronto-based Cargojet, who organises shows and dabbles in film production.
Akshay’s show may eclipse the demand for the Unforgettable show in Vancouver, which was scheduled for August 17. It has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales, attributed to the fact that Akshay was not going to perform in the concert.
“Amitabh Bachchan [Images] is no more a crowd puller,” a source says. “He has made dozens of appearances in the Canadian cities. He hardly talks with the people.”
Another factor that has resulted in the cancellation of the Vancouver show is the high ticket prices that WizCraft, the primary promoters of the Unforgettable tour, have demanded from the local franchisee. It is reportedly in the range of $650,000, which is $200,000 less than what the Ethnic Guru promoters in Toronto paid to WizCraft. WizCraft says it costs them a million dollar to mount one show in North America.
Inside sources say Amitabh Bachchan was angry at the poor ticket sales in Toronto. In his blog, of course, he has claimed that the revenue sold out. ‘We have to open the tiers to accommodate more people and the fire marshals and security had the time of their life keeping the vibrant crowds in their seats,’ he wrote.
It is no secret that the Toronto show did not sell more than 8,000 tickets in a stadium where they could seat 30,000 people.
Poor ticket sales have been attributed to expensive tickets — ranging from $97 to $287, and VIP tickets in the $1000 range. Realising tickets were not being sold, promoters Ethnic Guru were forced to open a new section at $65 a ticket.
According to insiders, WizCraft and Ethnic Guru made a mistake when they did not promote Akshay until after the IIFA (Indian International Film Award) event in Bangkok, just two weeks before the Unforgettable tour started on July 18.
“Till then, they had sold barely 3,000 tickets,” says a source. Only after they started promoting Akshay, they sold an additional 4,000 to 5,000 tickets, bringing the total ticket sales in the neighbourhood of 8,000.
However, the local promoters gave the ticket sales number as 13,000 to Ontario Tourism Minister Peter Fonseca’s office.
The Toronto Star reported 10,000 people watched the Unforgettable tour in Toronto.
A report in the Link, a Vancouver newspaper, reveals that WizCraft charged ‘an exorbitant amount of $850,000 for the Toronto show from Ethnic Guru and on top, the local promoters had to spend more than $350,000 to $400,000 in other costs related to the show.’ With this kind of investment, the reports says ‘the new promoters were bound to fail.’
Those who know the Ethnic Guru claim that they do not have much experience of organising big shows. No wonder the Bollywood stars were upset over the facilities. “There were no cars to ferry the stars around, there wasn’t even proper Indian food to cater to their individual tastes,” says our source. “If someone wants yellow dal, give him yellow dal. But no, they couldn’t. No wonder tempers were high, negatively impacting the show.”
“Amitabh Bachchan [Images] is no more a crowd puller,” a source says. “He has made dozens of appearances in the Canadian cities. He hardly talks with the people.”

‘forgettable tour’ news is just the same as Sarkar Raj its all confusing becuz Bachchans call it a success and the news keep telling about shows being cancelled and tickets being sold like(buy 2 and get the third free :D)
Details
cha gaya baazigar
bazzigar didnt get you….i read this somewhere in internet, and it confuse the hell out of me,forgettable is flop(buy 2 and get the third for free),forgettable is hit(as Bachchans keep asuming)…..but if i am allowed to make some conclusions:

first: from numbers i ve heard like 10.000 people(which have been confirmed by Bachchans themselves i think) this show isnt that huge…in the Netherlands and not far away from Germany…Ahoy-rotterdam(SRK reloaded) was totally sold out..Ahoy has more capacity than this miserable 10.000 (and i am 100% sure of dat since i attend shows for several artists there) you can ask also ppl from the country itself…even local events and awards shows like TMF-MTV awards dont get a sold-out Ahoy…so from what i am hearing i can simply conclude that SRK reloaded is bigger than this whole Bachchan fiasco…Bachchans will be in Germany and Rotterdam so lets see if they pull as much crowds as SRK did…
second:AB is using his blog to mislead ppl when things goes wrong, just like SR he was advertising IBOS and calling SR a hit, even giving wrong figures…so when things goes wrong AB write it in his blog before the media to mislead ppl…since he wrote a lot about this show(sold out+security having their time blablabla) i think its a big sign that the show is floppin
but still its all conclusions let dem come to europe and it will be easy to find out
Samia, Baazigar, Don_Mansoor & bunch of idiots
I dont think it requires a rocket science to find out after SEEING the VISUAL PICTURES that were posted on this site regarding UNFORGETTABLES that it’s indeed going a BLOCKBUSTER everywhere. Can’t u see that the shows were houseful. Don’t believ Bachchans, belive ur eyes becuase even we do the same. This is just a case of sour grapes for SRK fans becuase first they can’t digest the fact that SRK is so far flopped misrably in 2008 and no is emroiled in Salman fight also.
By the way, that news of SRK fighting from woman’s behind is true and is not a rumour because Katrina has indeed been kicked out of SRK’s (UN)tempation tour. First he hit ASH, now KAT.
And Samia, now u can see what ur SRK does to a female in general. he forgets that his success is purely on female fan following and he has taken revenge through a woman always to get back to any actor.
Below is the news:
Sallu reacts to his spat with SRK

The new concept of connecting to the audience through blog is becoming extremely popular amongst our Bollywood celebrities. And the latest star to join the Bollywood bloggers is none other than Salman Khan. He started with writing about his show Dus Ka Dum and now he has once again resorted to blogging to express his feelings on his fallout with Baadshah Khan.
Post the fight, Salman had clearly told his fans not to believe in reports that will keep flowing in about him. Salman is one candid actor and so is his girl friend Katrina who is no more part of Shah Rukh’s Temptation Reloaded Tour. Needless to say, the decision to opt out of the show comes after the Khan war on her 24th birthday bash.
Apparently, Salman’s new blog explains that these things don’t matter to him. He laughs, “Ha ha ha… I told you…didn’t I? Ki Farak Painda Hai (How does it matter)…You keep whacking a stick in water, what will happen to the water? Nothing. If the person doing this does not know that, then what does one do? Laugh because it’s funny or feel sad because it’s sad?” He signs off.
Needless to say that Salman, who is a King of entertainment by himself, doesn’t care about SRK’s King Khan Status and is not bothered about all that’s being said and written about him. That’s what we call Salman’s Just Chill attitude!
Arun,
You are a fan of Amitabh.I am still ok with it(because still i believe Amitabh is a decent person)
But you are supporting a COck head called Salman only to demean SRK.Thats not done dude.
salman khan at this momnet struggling in his carrer. His last movie Marigold was a wash out and GOD tussi great ho is expected to be another wash out.
So the desparation of Salman is showing.
Arun,
Is this true that the Vancovour show was cancelled ??If Yes,why??
Do you have any idea???
arun
the whole buchan family has collapse in 2008,and still floping at box office
so instead of worrying abt srk floping, arun u should worry about the buchans,no hit so far for buchans in 2008 lolz z
they r giving flops after flops so help them plz
arun
u r talking about unforgettable tour, and his fan
yes i have seen his fans means the whole buchans fan capacity
they opened the sarkar raj for 23 crore opening in 800 prints almost
while srk opened the hockey movie on 385 prints for 21 crore, with no song no heroine, the whole movie was based on hockey and still 21 crore
srk single 21 crore , the whole buchans family opened the sr 23
crore lolz z
where do these fan go,when buchans film releases
so i think there is no need of keeping these fans, who can not
make a film hit for buchans lolz z
to ppl who accuse others just to defend their stars or defend their point…i am not interrested in discussions with you…since your not worthy and your IQ cant come up with better than that…
decent discussions OK,but discussions with using words like idiots and stuff?????!! go discuss wid ppl from your same level…
