Shahid shakes the top five with third solo triumph!
Just recently (July 15) we carried an article (checkout -Folks, its time for Shahid’s annual solo hit!) predicting the third consecutive solo success for teenage heartthrob Shahid Kapoor. We talked about how Shahid had given two humongous solo hits during the last two years by way of VIVAH and JAB WE MET. We also stated that there are strong chances of Shahid continuing the winning trend through another solo triumph with Aziz Mirza’s KISMAT KONNECTION.
Well, that is exactly how it has gone. Despite the fact that Shahid’s current KISMAT KONNECTION is not carrying very good reports and has not been released at most of the PVR Cinemas (barring East Punjab), the film is looking at a 21 crore opening week total! Given that KISMAT KONNECTION is barely a 17-18 crore movie, and a 35 crore final total being very much possible, a hit tag looks a foregone conclusion.
Quite a feat one has to accept considering how the year has gone by for the Hindi film industry, with just four clear hits in the last seven months. It appears that the time is not far when Shahid Kapoor is officially acknowledged as one of the top five stars of Bollywood!

Shahid clearly is Dark horse here . Nobody talks about it but he is silently giving hits . clearly this guy has developed a fanbase with Masses ( vivaah) and classes ( Jab we met ) and thus Kismet konnection opened well across the board.
on current form Sahid Kapoor definitely should come right after SRK,HR,Akshya and Aamir.

Abhishek has only given one solo hit in 8 years.he has to givbe atleast 5 more solo hits to come to this bracket.

Your namesake has a long way to go before he is even considered a STAR.
1 (solo) and 4-5 hits overall out of some 40 films don’t count.
Emraan has 7 hits. And his movies open BIG. He has a big fan following. And he can carry a film on his own shoulders.
Emraan has 7 hits out of total 16. And in all of them he was the biggest star (barring Chocolate).
Saif has not given many solo hits and that is the rrsaon he is at no.7.But he has given some outstanding performances in last 2-3 years.
Emran ,though i dont consider him a star as a yet but still can carry a small budget movie on his shoulders.

Saif also has to give more solo hits. That is why he is behind Salman despite the fact that he has given more hits than Salman in last 4 years. But his record is better than Abhi any day.
SN was not a hit . it was semihit at best .
Emraan too barring murder and Jannat dont have any hits .
Abhishek too have given a solo Guru and good performances in Sarkar , Kank , Guru , Yuva .
Zeher, Kalyug, Gangster etc were also hits.
AB has given a few good performance but unlike Emraan he can’t carry the film on his own shoulders.
Even Akshaye Khanna is a better actor than Abhi or Emraan. But he also can’t carry a film on his own shoulders.
