Indeed what a year, 2007 has been. 2007 has been the year that SRK with CDI has confirmed that he is the best actor ever in Bollywood. Then after confirming that he is the best actor ever, SRK went on to reconfirm something that everyone (not just I, but everyone) has always said, that he is the best star that Bollywood has ever seen. Yes OSO has reconfirmed SRK’s legendary star status. OSO has become the highest grosser with 86 Cr collection in India and worldwide collection has reached almost to 225 Cr and it is still earning. wow! that is brilliant

what a Performances this is called a Great Actor + Real Super Star. Way to go:-
BAAZIGAR
“The biggest strength of the movie is Shah Rukh Khan’s superlative performance. It really raises the bar of the movie. BAAZIGAR also witnesses the rising of a new star in the form of Shah Rukh Khan who has the power to carry a film solely on his shoulders.”
KABHI HAAN KABHI NAA
“Shah Rukh Khan gives a wonderful performance; his sense of comedic timing is perfect in each scene. Most of the film, barring the romance scenes, requires him to be comedic and his talent is evident there.”
DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE
“Shah Rukh Khan does a wonderful job, in both his dancing and his acting.”
RAM JAANE
“Shah Rukh Khan performance as Ram Jaane is just amazing, he looked like a thug, he talked like a gangster, he acted like a criminal, and no one could have played this character better.”
YES BOSS
“Shah Rukh Khan has played his character excellent. He has displayed all of his talents in a nutshell as Rahul. Serious, Sad and Angry as well as Humorous and Excited are played with delicacy and enthusiasm by Shah Rukh Khan. Only his role in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has come close to this movie.”
PARDES
“Shah Rukh Khan has given a flawless performance. His acting as Arjun is subtle yet very powerful.”
DIL TO PAGAL HAI
“Shah Rukh Khan dominates the movie. His role as Rahul is played valiantly and may be deserving of an award.”
DUPLICATE
“Shah Rukh Khan has played both characters so distinctly that the audience has no difficulty differentiating between the two.”
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
“Shah Rukh Khan is almost perfect in his role as Rahul and balances both the archie-ish college kid and later, the widower looking out for his daughter at a even pitch. He makes people laugh, cry through his emotions. It is one of his most accessible and charming performances in recent times.Undoubtedly the best performance of the year.”
BAADSHAH
“Shah Rukh Khan has done terrific job. It’s difficult to imagine anyone else carrying off the role with such conviction.”
JOSH
“Shah Rukh Khan excels as Max. He looks the character and performs it with utmost sincerity. This is undoubtedly one of the best performances of his career.”
ASOKA
“Shah Rukh Khan essays his part with enthusiasm. It won’t be wrong to state that this is amongst his finest performances.”
DEVDAS

He evokes the right kind of emotions in the viewers’ hearts, never once going overboard. He looks splendid and mesmerises the audience with his acting in many scenes. As a man madly in love, he proves that there could have been no better choice than him for the role.”
CHALTE CHALTE
“CHALTE CHALTE clearly belongs to Shah Rukh Khan, an actor par excellence. One actually runs out of adjectives and personifications if asked to describe this performance by the actor. Clearly his most natural and likeable performance since DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE, Shah Rukh Khan surrenders himself completely to the script and delivers a performance that is bound to be a big hit with one and all.”
MAIN HOON NAA
“MAIN HOON NAA reinforces your confidence in Shah Rukh Khan, the actor, the star. Portraying a mass-appealing character, the actor gives his best shot and delivers yet another power-packed performance. The role not only does full justice to his status as the country’s super-star, but also as a performer. Besides, the two stunts in the film [his introduction and towards the finale] will silence his hardcore critics who felt that the actor was more comfortable handling the DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE, KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI and KAL HO NAA HO kind of roles.”
VEER - ZAARA
“VEER-ZAARA is another feather in Shah Rukh Khan’s well decorated cap. The actor enacts the challenging role with amazing ease, putting his best foot forward and emerging trumps. It would indeed be difficult to imagine any other actor essaying the two diverse parts. Simply unforgettable!”
SWADES
“Shah Rukh Khan is extremely likeable. He stands firm on his feet in dramatic sequences, confirming yet again that he’s not merely a super-star, but a super actor as well.”
PAHELI
“If you ever had an iota of doubt about Shah Rukh Khan’s versatility, it would evaporate the moment you watch PAHELI. This is amongst Shah Rukh Khan’s most accomplished performances ever. He is fabulous as the ghost and equally convincing as the bewildered husband.”
DON - THE CHASE BEGINS AGAIN
“Shah Rukh Khan’s performance in the film is expectedly outstanding. It is one of the most stylish performance of his entire career. As Don he is ruthless and cunning and as Vijay his dialogue delivery and comic timing are worth applauding. Hats off to him for playing the Don and Vijay effortlessly. It would not be wrong to say that Don could not be Don without Shah Rukh Khan.”
CHAK DE! INDIA
“Shah Rukh Khan is the soul of CHAK DE! INDIA. What you see on screen would be half of what it is without this matchless actor. He makes you feel what you are supposed to feel. A performance that’s sure to go down as one of his finest works so far.”
Om Shanti Om
“Shah Rukh Khan has given a superlative performance and once again shows why he is called Baadshah of bollywood. He is par excellence and entertains the audience from the word go. He does a superb job in his double role and carries the whole film on his shoulders. He is soul of the film and you can see him doing the things in a very natural and confident way. Mustafa you missed Swades & Chak De India ,Both performance which were appericated globally. He Silent everyone who belive he cant treach the depth of a character. With both performances, he proved that none can give better than the performance in Swades & Chak De … This prove’s his acting talent
In my opinion Srk is much educated interms of acting when compared to his co-actors,Here is an actor who’s been & done & achived in all kind of stages as an actor i.e like Street Play to Tele to Movies with different characters
Hence we should understand that Srk is actor who acts according to wavelength of a movie.Dats the reason hz capable of giving OSO and CDI both in a year.No other actor could achived that
He is the one who has done Devdas & K3G & Asoka simultanously , Dats simply remarkable !
His performance is always above the script !!

Jai ive realised most of your POINTS are blatant lies..
If i say a mouse is a tiger would people beleive me???
You claim that OSO has made 86 crores in india and 225 crores worldwide?? BLANTANT LIE.
boxofficeindia shows that it made 86 crores in india and 36 crores worldwide.
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO LIE FOR???? Are you that insecure to prove SRKs stardom that you have to resort to lieing..
You have also claimed that KBC3 last episode had the highest ever TRP. Well my friend i went to indianteleivion.com and it showed his LAST episode had TRP of 5.2. One of the lowest ever for KBC.
Just thought id expose your lies to the rest.
Does lieng run in your family blood? Its not good to lie and spread false information…

Well Said, Mustafa!
That’s the point.
As SRK once rightly said, “My job is to make shit look good.”
He is the difference between an ordinary film and an extra-ordinary film.
Comment by lmfrz on 26 June 2008:
Amjad!
“Dances at weddings for money… Kings dont dance at weddings for money…more like KUNJER KHAN…”
Dancing at wedding is much much better than EVADING TAX and buying properties by CALLING ONESELF A FARMER.
“FLOP on TV with 2 flops. KBC3 and now Panchvi pass…”
Your saying KBC3 a flop doesn’t make it one. The TRPs, endorsements and public response is enough to show that it was a huge HIT.
Panchwi Pass might not be as popular but it is much ahead of the other shows being hosted by celebrities, including Salman & Hrithik.
“and out of 60 movies only 20 have been succesfull.”
SRK has done only 47 films. Out of which around 25 have been successful.
Plus, as wrongly quoted on this website, Shakti was not SRK movie. It was just a goodwill gesture for Boney Kapoor.
If we go by the same standard ur so called Big B success rate will be around 25%.
and I know how much I prove you, you won’t accept the success of SRK. You will come out with stupid reasons to undermine his success. Because you are not interested in coming to a common terms and debating. You are just desperate to run down SRK.
BUT HE IS THE KIND OF PERSON WHO WILL GET BIGGER AND BIGGER, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
Comment by Rajeev on 26 June 2008:
Amjad,
KBC s 5.2 rating infact is the one of the best ratings of TV history .
Any rating above 5 is equal to any rating above 15 in 2001.(due to 100 more TV channels no w a days)
Secondly reg OSO your stats are right. But they are nett figures.Infact when we take gross figure in to consideration OSO collected close to 200 Crores. The highest in the movie history for a Bollywood movie.
Comment by Rajeev on 26 June 2008:
Amjad,
Your Stats are blatant lies.
Without being bisesd to anybody SRK has acted in 48 Movies and delivered 25 hits,7 avg and 16 flops.
For Amitabh 150 Movies,54 hits,9 avg and 87 flops.
I have nothing more to say about the success rate. You guys are wise enough to calculate it by yourself.

Inspite of all this Aamir Khan as an actor was ordinary in those Movies. Movies stood but because of others. If any other actor would have been there in place of Aamir Khan Movie would still have been classic.

hahahaha Nishit again a foolish answer as i expect everytime from u Performance of SRK stood out in Swades. Movie was weak. In Aamir Khan case Movie is good and Aamir as an actor was weak.

Comment by lmfrz on 26 June 2008:
Nishit is a moron!
He lives in a fool’s paradise. Let him be.
Aamir khan has just got bigger, i.e. post Rang De…
earlier he was far behind even Salman.
in the 90s he was never a force to reckon with.
SRK, Salman and Govinda were ruling the roost. SRK still continues the reign while the other two have lost their hold.
Comment by lmfrz on 26 June 2008:
The greatness of SRK is apparent by the fact that whenever 2 actors are compared, he is always one of them.
SRK vs AB
SRK vs Hrithik
SRK vs Aamir
SRK vs Salman
SRK vs Akshay Kumar
You will never find a discussion comparing an Aamir vs Salman, or Hrithik vs Akshay Kumar or anybody else for that matter.
it’s because SRK RULES. it’s because everyone WANTS TO BE HIM.
Comment by lmfrz on 26 June 2008:
Aamir is the most over-rated actor in India.
He is a better selector of films. That too, after 2000. Before that his record is too dismal to even compete with SRK, Salman or Govinda (in 90s). Even Ajay Devgan was better than him. He had a big fan following at that time.
I have never seen people coming out of theatre and going gaga over his performance. He is and was just above average in most of his films.
The only thing we can credit him for is that he never goes below a certain level. But he never surpasses beyond a certain level also.
Comment by Mustafa on 26 June 2008:
Okay Nishit you accepted defeat grt that Aamir has no performance comparable to Shah Rukh Khan Chak De! India, Swades, Devdas, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Darr.

Whatever maybe said..
SRK needs a top herione, chartbusting music, big banner, good storyline to deliver a hit.
If we go by SOLO stardom, his individual stardom can be seen in films like..
DUPILCATE, BAADSHAH, SWADES, ASOKA, etc etc. all flops.
If we use this barometer than SRK has yet to deliver a SOLO hit. A hit because of him and noone else..
All his hits are home productions or yash raj banners or karan johar…
For me the true superstar today is AKSHAY KUMAR. SRK is media-made. a few more wrinkles in a couple of years and noone will be talking about him
For me SRK is like RISHI KAPOOOR and JEETENDRA big at one time but will dissapear from the scene when old age hits him….

just like tashans flops he will have a crown of flops

Comment by Amjad on 26 June 2008:
For me true megastardom in india has only been seen by 2 actors..
Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.
Others have seen glimses but true megastardom has been seen by the above 2.
1) Rajesh Khanna from 1970-1973 saw stardom that was unseen before, whole of india was gripped with Rajesh Khanna craze, women wrote letters in blood. Never before had bollywood seen hysteria like that. Even though it was a few years. Today journalists will tell you it was unlike anything seen before.
2) Amitabh Bachchan became larger than life, his hold on the public and the hysteria he generated probably even eclipsed the khanna craze. As he lay ill at breach candy hospital in 1982 an entire country stopped to pray. Never before had a star been this popular. Millions went to pray in temples, mosques, churches, outside the hosptial thousands of people kept a vigil. People were ready to donate parts of their body to save him. Ask anyone who was around then, and they will tell you NO STAR after him has seen stardom like that. When he came out of hosptial, mumbai stopped! His craze and following was pan-indian, small towns in rural india to big cities in urban centres. This made him a NATIONAL ICON!
Today we have stars like SRK, HRITHIK, SALMAN, AAMIR, all popular in their own ways but they will never reach the level of a Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.

Comment by Amjad on 26 June 2008:
In southern india..
The superstardom that Rajnikanth enjoys, is the sort that srk can only dream off.
If i have to rate superstardom in order in terms of hysteria generated..
It will be in this order..
1) Amitabh Bachchan (1975-1985)
2) Rajnikanth
3) Rajesh Khanna (1970-1973)
I think all the other stars have been big in their own ways…
Today we have a SRK who sells big in big cities but go to small towns in rural india people dont like him and he is not popular.
Govinda in small towns is massive but to go big cities and people will laugh at him.
Mithun was big in rural india but urban india never took him serioually
All the others are big in their own way…
But i maintain india and hindi cinema has had 2 true megastars. Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna.

Amjad!
You just rant about SRK failures. Everyone has his/her share of failures.
If we tabulate the failures of Aamir, you will commit suicide. No, sorry… you won’t because you are an incorrigible BESHARAM.
Go and see ATANK HI ATANK, TUM MERE HO, DAULAT KI JUNG, DEEWANA MUJHSA NAHIN, PARAMPARA, etc.
In fact, he gave flops after flops between QSQT and DIL. None of them got even a decent opening. DIL got people back to his movies, mainly because of hit music. And he salvaged his career.
ALL HIS HITS WERE BARELY HITS IN THE 90s.
Plus, none of his films have done collosal business. Raja Hindustani is an exception. But that was only because of the music. Everyone knows how shitty the movie is. And how ordinary his performance was.
Barring a few, he has never delivered a performance that has created hysteria over the masses. He is just above average in all his films.
AND HE IS THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITE IN THE INDUSTRY.

On current films.
I loved Munnabhai MBBS and am waiting to see Lage Raho Munnabhai. But why is Omkara depicting so much violence, as clear from whatever I have seen on television? Om is the only word that you consume inside you when you say it. Bloody hell! I dont want to see that film. I am also intrigued that Asoka had no h in the name. Why are they ashamed to name it correctly as Ashoka The Great? Why distort history? Add to this the fact that Ashoka was a very tall man and Shah Rukh, who played his character, is a medium-sized man. John would have been a better choice instead. I have also seen Rang De Basanti, but I couldnt understand the film. What was the director trying to tell us through a foreign girl? But I tell you, be it Shah Rukh, Salman or Aamir or anybody else who will reach the top, that person will not reach the heights that Amitabh reached. Amitabh is untouchable.

I think since the mid90s, stardom has been shared by a number of actors..
SRK, SALMAN, AAMIR, HRITHIK etc…
To understand how big Rajesh Khanna was in the early 70s, one must combine the above 4.
same applies to Bachchan. You need to add srk, salman, aamir, hrithik, akshay and combine their fame and following.
Thats when you get a rough understanding how big he was in his heydays.
Anyway i agree with Rajesh Khannas comment. Superstardom started with me and finished with Bachchan.
Comment by lmfrz on 26 June 2008:
Amjad!
Have you ever been to rural India?
What support you have to claim that SRK is not popular in small places?
How old were you to know how popular a Rajesh Khanna or an Amitabh were in 70s to mid 80s?
DON’T TALK WITHOUT ANY PROOF.
We have enough proof to show that SRK is much ahead of Rajesh Khanna and AB. Like his fan following, number of successes, bigness of achievements, etc.
You just talk what you have heard. Do you have any proof to back your statements?
NOW STOP THE CRAP AND BRING SOLID FACTS.
RK & AB might have been popular in their times. But this doesn’t mean that SRK is not bigger than them.
HE IS FAR FAR AHEAD OF BOTH OF THEM. AND WE HAVE SOLID FACTS TO PROVE THIS.
Comment by Amjad on 26 June 2008:
Imfrz you are deluding yourself if you think SRK is bigger than Rajesh Khanna was in his days..
SRK is just a media-made star who will be forgotten in a couple of years. and yes ive been to rural india, i suggest you go there and ask which stars are popular and which are not.
SRK films run to almost empty centres in rural india, this is actually a trade fact. I think you need to go there and see this yourself.
Comment by jai on 26 June 2008:
Clarifications:
1. SRK was never a superstar when he started his career. He reached there only when he was a few films old.
2. All throughout SRK’s rise to superstar-dom, there were Anil Kapoor (Tezaab), Aamir Khan (Qayamat se …, Dil etc.), Salman Khan (Maine pyar kiya), Sunny Deol (Ghayal), Sanjay Dutt etc. It was never a walk in the park for SRK. In fact, even Amitabh was making solo movies at that time, most of which bombed at the box office.
4. While tabulating Amitabh’s gross, do remember that none of his hit films were solo act (single hero). They were all multi-starers which brings down Amitabh’s contribution to the revenues even further. And then see the total number of movies Amitabh has done and compare that with the number of movies SRK has done. Your total gross will then go down drastically.
And what are you talking of? SRK has spent 15-16 years in the industry where as Amitabh has spent 38-40 years!! Do you see that?
Look at Amitabh’s box office status today - how many flops does he deliver every year? Compare that with the flops SRK delivers every year?
Comment by lmfrz on 26 June 2008:
Amjad & Vijay!
STOP RANTING. BRING OUT FACTS.
YOUR SAYING OR PRAKASH MEHRA SAYING OR RAJESH KHANNA SAYING SOMETHING DOESN’T MAKE IT A TRUTH.
Plus, how can one time popular actor RK say that Super Stardom eneded with AB. Has he seen the future?
He is not even seeing the present. No wonder, he is lost in oblivion.
And in AB’s time, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna were also there. Plus, there was the bhagwan of acting Sanjeev Kumar & Naseeruddin Shah.
People say that AB was a gay icon because he used to walk and dance like them. Plus, the never-endig “Hain, hain.”
Comment by jai on 26 June 2008:
The Clear Picture on Amitabh Bachchan So Called Super Stardom
“By Mohan”
I am not a SRK fan but all i can say is that Bachchan was not the star he is made out to be. I have a lot of proof with trade mags which i will provide at some time.
The first thing i would like to say is that before Amitabh entered film industry it was a family but manipulation started with Bachchan. The problem is people like me know what happened becuase we were there but what comes out after the event is not like it was.
Here is an actual glace of Bachchan’ career.
1968
Bachchan cannot make much headway in the industry so his mother asks Indira Gandhi for help the saying that her son is adamant at being a film hero but due to his looks nobody is giving him a channce. Indira goes to Dutt saab (Sunil) to see if he can do anything. Dutt Saab and Nargis are closest to Indira in film industry. Dutt saab does not have anything but he can’t say no to Indira Gandhi. He gives Bachchan a role in Reshma aur Shera. There are problems as Bachchan wants Vinod Khanna’s role but Vinod is doing Dutt Saab’s Man Ka Meet and is a favourite for him. Bachchan is relegated to the background with a role of a dumb mute but he he is now in contact with the right people and roles are coming. The roles are mainly in small films or side roles.
1969
His first release Saat Hindustani is low key.
Somehow he manages to get Anand which stars superstar Rajesh Khanna. Its a small role but a film with Kaka means in the limelight.
1970
Anand releases and does well. Its Kaka’s film but Bachchan is noticed.
1971
Dutt saab suffers big loses with Reshma aur Shera, Bachchans first film as hero Pyar Ki Kahani is a disaster, his next where he plays second lead to Navin Nishcol Parwana also does not make impact. Mehmood’s Bombay To Goa does better but does nothing for Bachchan’s career as he just does not look hero material.
1972
Sanjog, Bansi Birju, Ek nazar Raaste Ka Pathar bite the dust and how. Its pack up time.
Now Prakash Mehra and Dharamji are making a film called Samadhi. Dharamji has a script with him by Salim Javed which he wants Prakash Mehra to direct, both are very busy and give it six months to start the movie. Six months later Dharamji is doing a film called Yaadon Ki Baraat which he feels is similar to the Salim Javed scripted one so Dharamji tells Mehra who loves the script to take the script from him and make it with someone else. Prakash Mehra approaches Raaj Kumar and Dev Saab but they refuse. Mehra is in a fix when Pran Saab tells him about this lambu hero who is looking for work. Mehra is not too confident but with a good word from Pran saab, Hrishikeshda and Indira Gandhi, Mehra goes ahead and launches Zanjeer in Nov 1972, it is to be a quickie.
1973
Zanjeer is made quickly and it releases in May 1973 and after a slow start it is a hit. This is where everyone believes Bachchan became a superstar but it was nothing like that. What Zanjeer did was give him a life line. Two months later his Bande Haath bit the dust without an opening. Zanjeer was forgotten. Bachchan was not a star yet let alone superstar. Bachchan knows Zanjeer has given him a chance and he needs to consolidate. Around October 73 the Sippy’s are making a very big film with Dharamji and are looking at Shatru bhai for the supporting role. Now Dharamji is fond of Shatru bhai but Bachchan goes to Dharamji and asks him to put in a recommendation for him to the Sippys fully well knowing that Shatru is candidate No1. Dharamji puts in a recommendation for Bachchan and Sippy’s are not going to refuse Dharamji. Its only later that Shatru Bhai tells Dharamji that he was in the running for the role and Dharamji tells him if he knew that he would never have got Bachchan the role.
But Bachchan is on cloud nine, he is in Sholay and Salim Javed are accepting Bachchan for their films. He has it made and offers come from Gulshan Rai (Deewaar), B R Chopra (Zameer), Manoj Kumar (Roti Kapada Aur Makaan) and others.
The box office is still not being kind. Gehri Chaal(second lead) and Saudagar flop. Abhimaan does average business. Namak Haraam also does okay. Now the media would like to believe this is where Bachchan toppled Kaka but it was nothing like that. No doubt Bachchan was appreciated in the role but this was not the Kaka of Anand, Kaka was gone earlier with flop after flop (Maalik, Raja Rani, Mehboob Ki Mehndi, etc). Kaka had already been toppled by Dharamji so there was no question of Bachchan toppling Kaka and becoming the No1.
Media believes Zanjeer made Bachchan No1 but it was nothing like that. At the end of 73 Dharmji, Kaka, Panditji (Manoj), Jeetu bhai, Dutt Saab, Dev Saab, Chintu (Rishi) and others were all bigger then him. Alos you had the white horse Yusuf saab (Dilip Kumar) who was in self imposed exile.
Bachchan’s biggest strike was to somehow get into Sholay and this made other makers look at him because after Dharamji and Dutt saab he was the only choice for action roles as all the rest were more romantic types.
Tired writing now and will do some more in the next few days. Look out for.
1. Bachchan wanted superstar tag after Deewaar and went for kill but fell flat on his face
2. One of his biggest hits Muqqadar Ka Sikander failed to get opening in places.
3. Ramraj Nahta and B.K Adarsh the men who helped Bachchan the most.
4. Losing many battles with same day releases with contemparies.
5. Bachchan was never off media he was off Stardust which led to support from the other magazines.
6. Prakash Mehra and Manmohan Desai nearly come to blows with Naseeb and Laawari
