  10. More Confirmation that Sarkar Raj has Flopped by Rediff.

    Sarkar Raj

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai.
    Director: Ram Gopal Varma.

Thumbs Up: The film has some good moments.

Thumbs Down: Too many close-ups, the film falls flat.

    Number of weeks: 2.

    BO Verdict: Flop.

  11. Already Ibos has Termed Aag as Blockbuster, Nishabd as Super Hit and Boom as All Time Blockbuster.

  12. Mustafa,

Strange that only u and couple of ur chamchas say this…NOT THE WHOLE WORLD….

its good to scream from roof top, it will only clear ur throat, nothing else. Becuase people will lend a deaf ear to what ur saying and simply pity u mental state.

BIG B represents the FILM INDUSTRY. PERIOD.

  13. Don’t cry I sympathise with you.

  14. Arun,

I dont know, what makes you think that BIG B represents FILM Industry. Not only its laughable but also its foolish.

I mean even a fool would stop shouting after the battering the movie SR has received.

Yes BIG B was an Important part of the industry and there are a number of actors who are as important as BIG B and may be more.

  15. Mustafa,

I think ur crying over SRK’s flop Panchwipass show.

    BOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Rajeev,
I have already proved that Aamir and akshay, hrithik alre all superstars and srk should share the podium with them now and never alone which BIG B had.

  16. Fact to yeh hai, Jab BIG B ne gaddi chori, tab roti ke tukde lene k liya srk aaya. Nobody was able to snatch stardom from BIG B like he did with rajesh khanna.

When BIG B retired, there was not much of competition for SRK. It was smooth sailing all through. Even he has admitted that “i was there at the right time and right place!!”

  17. Arun talk about Sarkar Raj which has Flopped. Don’t change Topic.

  18. Mustafa,

No one is changing the topic when SR is a hit, it will always remain HIT and CNN-IBN , Balaji telefilms have also declared that . Now dont cry……

  19. Arun where it is Hit. Find for me.

  21. ‘Paanchvi Pass’ pass nahin

With Shah Rukh Khan, both Siddharth Basu of Synergy Adlabs and STAR were confident of the cult following that ‘Paanchvi Pass’ would generate. They were hoping to recreate the magic of ‘KBC’. And so confident they were that they launched the game show during the IPL extravaganza.

Blunder No.1. For a cricket starved nation, a game show is just a filler during the advertisements. ‘Paanchvi Pass’ was unveiled in April when the IPL - Twenty-20 mania had just about kicked in. It was the clash of the titans. Other channels shied away from unveiling new shows and more or less stuck to their tried and tested soaps. But Star decided to take a gamble and launch ‘Paanchvi Pass’. They were hoping to cash in on the SRK mania.SRK did voice his dissent. Juggling between promoting his Kolkata Knight Riders and his back to back commitments with Star did leave him a little sore.

We had reported earlier that King Khan wasn’t keen on kick starting ‘Paanchvi Pass’ because he felt that there would be a clash of interests, but Star wanted to cash in on his onscreen magnetism.

A game show is a fantastic concept. Edu-entertainment is the new TRP churner, but a regular diet does tend to make it a tad boring. And that is exactly what happened with the show. The SRK magnetism refused to hold the show together. TRP’s dropped to an abysmal level. Slowly, the audience shifted loyalties to the IPL. And when they had enough and more of cricket, they decided to watch Salman Khan perform his antics…that was a novelty because by then Shah Rukh was old news.

To give our King Khan credit, he did try to pull back the TRP’s with celeb power. But the TRP’s still continued to stick to a dismal 2 to 2.6 percent. From SRK loyalists - KJo and Rani Mukherji to our Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav - the show refused to make the climb on the charts. Even though the channel has SRK’s dates for 52 episodes, they have decided to stick to the original contract of 36 episodes and pull it off air after that.

Are we going to see Season II in the near future? Siddharth Basu, on a defensive note, said, ” That is a call that the channel would need to take.” The channel seemed to pussy foot around questions and refused to comment. Our close source however managed to slip it in that, “there are talks of replacing it with another show. Non-fiction or fiction is still being worked on.”

And our bets are hedged on the ‘Mahabharatha’, Star Plus’s magnum opus. With 9X gunning for an August release, Star Plus is feeling the heat and may decide to slot their Mahabharatha in the same time slot as ‘Paanchvi Pass’. There are a couple of daily soaps in the pipeline, but they would need a strong show to retain their prime time slot.

  23. Mustafa, SRK ie behind Emran hashmi now. Emran has jannat and K has Panchwi pass and faile KKR team…

    hahahahhhaa

Guys, another break in SRK’s stardom….2008 is a break along with earlier years….so he is not a star anymore.

  24. Fortunes change every Friday. It is time to go beyond proclamations, claims, retorts and diatribe. The BO burrow is where all false gods falter. Fly-day or Fry-day..? It depends on which end of the Six Pack chart you are!

In ‘Sarkar Raj’, we see the emergence of Bachchan II. Small B has, finally, stepped into the shoes of Angry Young Man. The junior never for once flinches in the presence of his mighty dad. Nor is he overshadowed by his charming wife. Abhishek Bachchan, as Shankar Nagre, is one for the textbook.

The screenplay of ‘Sarkar Raj’, which is low on dialogue, poses a challenge to all actors concerned. Abhishek gets over this hurdle with admirable ease. He internalises the character, delivers a controlled performance, and proves once again that he is invincible. On his day, that is!

The net collection for Sarkar Raj stands at Rs. 20,40,14,150 at the end of Week 1 at the Indian Box-office. It has also taken a record-breaking initial overseas.

Strength: The Terrific (Bachchan) Trio, Stunning climactic twist

    Weakness: Screen lag! Weak premise.

    Box-office verdict: Hit

  25. Sarkar Raj has registered massive opening weekend collections. Yet a collection of trade media writers which an industry source calls ‘loosely organized propogandists posing as trade analysts’ at major portals, magazines and tv channels have declared the opening poor and film as having been rejected when the opening Friday collections told a different story.
The film may or may not drop over the weekdays (monsoon outpour and overflooding in Maharashtra and some other parts of the country are expected to affect collections for next couple days) but the fact is the opening Fri-Sat-Sun collections all over the country are so high that even with a crash the first week billings of Sarkar Raj would be among the highest recorded in recent times. In Mumbai while some theaters did show a drop on Monday, many were rock steady despite heavy flooding in the city. Eternity Mall theater in Thane-Mumbai recorded around 50% for its Monday night 11pm show, which is not insignificant and higher than opening collections recorded by many recent ‘hits’. Moving up north the film saw multiple sellouts Monday evening in Indore, in Gurgaon, as well as in Delhi NCR. And in the south, the film can already be termed a hit with the crowds recorded by theaters like Inox Banglore and Prasads, Hyderabad on Monday evening. In the smaller centers up north like Ranchi in Jharkhand, Sarkar Raj drew 95% over the weekend. Even overseas in USA the film has opened to an encouraging response fetching the biggest start for the Ram Gopal Varma politico-gangster genre. In India, there is expected to be some decline over the weekdays but independent tracking indicates that the collections recorded on Friday and Saturday alone ensure a big week 1. So why then are the trade media spinning a different tale? Some are claiming the opening was nonexistent. Some are claiming the opening was poor followed by a pick up and followed by pick down, which does not correlate with pattern, or logic.
Explains an industry source, “these so called trade analysts are similar to the villains shown in Sarkar Raj…they have been preplanning on how to try to derail the Bachchans and Ram Gopal Varma in the media for ages. But they are more or less helpless, the film has already recovered huge collections…multiplexes were housefull since Friday and single screens were 80-90% also. As for not doing 100% opening show, when you have 20 shows a day screening with this type of saturation which blockbuster has opened to 100%? None. Unless you actually believe these 2 bit movies like Jannat are opening to 100% and doing blockbuster business while Bachchan movies like Sarkar Raj are opening to 20%. We too would [be surprised at these claims] if we didn’t know better that many of these so called media ‘critics’ and ‘trade writers’ are part of a particular political lobby themselves.”
As such independent sources believe while there are ambivalent reports on the film, there is enough positive response. To elaborate, while a section of the Bachchan fans were by default restrained by the fact that the masala element of a Kajra Re was not to be expected in this type of film; but perhaps more to the film’s detriment is the fact that the Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai angle has not been fully or even substantially exploited (a la a Guru), keeping a section of men and women not so interested in political details and violence from repeating the Ram Gopal Varma film.
And yet there is significant support from the cult segments of the unconventional RGV style of filmmaking that renders the film to stand a good chance of faring along the way of Sarkar I over the coming weeks.
More interestingly, while the original Sarkar opened fantastically in Mumbai but did not do as big elsewhere, this one may eventually fare better outside Mumbai.
But even if the film didn’t go on to sustain as well as it has opened, Sarkar Raj is not an opulent overseas shot film or the most expensive film ever a la the mega budget epics like Jodha Akbar or a Dhoom 2 or even a Tashan. There are no Greece lakes or Swiss mountains in Sarkar Raj. The entire film was shot mostly on location in Hyderabad. Ram Gopal Varma and the producers have already cleverly made their profits selling the worldwide distribution rights to Balaji for 38 crores last August. And yet the distributor cost is just about half of the 63 crore distribution cost for an alleged ’super hit’ like Race. So given the opening alone, Sarkar Raj will cross the 38 crore collection mark in little time over the coming days. And if it does sustain, it will go onto become another thumping hit.

  26. SR is going to be the boggest blockbuster of Bollywood.. but some srk fans and his fevoured analyst are trying to derail the movie by giving negative report.. even some channels are giving wrong report. But yet it running houseful. n bangalore ut was houseful throughout the first week and seconr week its around 80% in multiplexes. It opened with 75shows in Bangalore which itself is a record.. But due to release of Dashavatar of Kamal hasan second week screening has reduced..
And in oversea it has alredy grossed 25Cr as on 15tyh jun.check boxofficemojo.com for clarification..
Boxofficeindia.com is worst and most biased site I ever came across..Its against Bachchans,, Even Bachchan old movies are rated much below both in collection as well as verdict..

  39. You cann’t find it, so you lost. Bye.

  40. i have other things to do as well. like celebrate sarkar raj failure.

  41. SEE what Prakash mehra has said in recent interview….

“” loved Munnabhai MBBS and am waiting to see Lage Raho Munnabhai. But why is Omkara depicting so much violence, as clear from whatever I have seen on television? Om is the only word that you consume inside you when you say it. Bloody hell! I don?t want to see that film. I am also intrigued that Asoka had no ?h? in the name. Why are they ashamed to name it correctly as Ashoka ? The Great? Why distort history? Add to this the fact that Ashoka was a very tall man and Shah Rukh, who played his character, is a medium-sized man. John would have been a better choice instead. I have also seen Rang De Basanti, but I couldn?t understand the film. What was the director trying to tell us through a foreign girl? But I tell you, be it Shah Rukh, Salman or Aamir or anybody else who will reach the top, that person will not reach the heights that Amitabh reached. Amitabh is untouchable”"

  42. arun

U can celebrate the super failure of sarkar raj just like BHootnath…. but shahrukh khan gave boothnath the staus of avg other wise it was another big flop from amitab

BIG B has given flop at age 66 and SRK is having super success at the age of 42

  43. amitab has not win more filmfare awards than srk wat kind of actor is he

amitab is in indian industry from 40 yrs and only won 4 filmfare best actor award where as look at shahrukh khan in only at the age of 42 and only 17 yr he has passed in bollywood and he has collected 7 awards

so big shame to amitab 40 yrs for amitab and 4 filmfare best actor award look at shahrukh khan 7 award in 17 yr

    shame on amitab

  44. SHAHRUKH KHAN PANCHVI PASS A HIT SHOW FACT

So has television finally laid rest to the question - who is the biggest star? In a clash between Bollywood biggies, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, it is SRK whose game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? that appears to be doing better, according to snap polls done by aMap in six metros.

The overnight audience measurement agency, aMap, has suggested that while Roshan attracted an average television rating of 0.82% for his music-based contest Junoon - Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka , Salman’s Das Ka Dum (DKD) could only garner a TRP of 1.65%.

Both were launched on June 6 after much hype and promotion. DKD promises an astounding cash prize of Rs 10 crore besides getting to watch Salman dance to his favourite numbers on the set.

Junoon , on the other hand, is a music show for which Roshan is a “goodwill ambassador”. However, SRK is not nicknamed King Khan for nothing.

His show Kya Aap… - that was launched on April 25 - got off to a better start. The quiz show enjoyed a TRP of 2.7 on the first day.

The show that evaluates the participant’s knowledge on information that a fifth class student knows, has dipped in popularity since its launch. Industry experts have blamed the low ratings to the IPL season that consumed public interest earning TRPs of 7 or 8.

Even in its peak rating, the Indian version of Are you Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? has beaten both Salman Khan and Roshan with a peak rating of 3.5%. DKD had a peak rating of 2.6 while Junoon barely managed a rating of 1.1.

Incidentally, Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 - another show hosted by SRK last year - did better than the three that are currently running. While its average rating was 3.4%, it had a peak rating of 4.9%.

  45. ANOTHER FACT PANCHVI PASS A HIT

With Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s show having been around – competing together for two weeks now – it was time to explore who found favour on the small screen.

And if TRPs are to be believed, Salman may have given SRK a close fight but it is the King Khan who has emerged a clear winner.

According to the data disclosed by TAM Media Research, Salman’s 10 Ka Dum on Sony piped Hrithik-endorsed Junoon Kuchh Kar Dikhane Ka on NDTV Imagine and SRK’s Kya Aap Paanchvi Pas Se Tez Hain ? with 3.35 TVR on the first day. Interestingly enough, the ratings of Dum fell on the next day to 2.7 TVRs and that of Kya Aap… rose to 3.29 TVRs.

The second week saw Junoon falling to .60 per cent while Dum stood at 1.51 per cent. Shah Rukh emerged a winner with 1.62 per cent in this aMap rating. SRK’s show will go off air in July.

But is it just the star who makes all the difference or should the credit also go to the format of the show? TV insiders say while star brings the eyeballs initially, it is the format which holds the viewers.

Danish Khan, assistant vice-president, marketing, Sony, avers that although the format of the show is of utmost importance, “matching the nerve of the show with the verve of a celebrity host is the magic mantra.” He says, “Our show (Dum) is all about light-hearted questions that don’t tax the contestant’s brains. The questions needed to be asked with a lot of humour and Salman fits the bill. It wouldn’t have worked if we had an awe-inspiring presence on the sets, like that of Big B.”

Shailja Kejriwal, executive vice-president, content, NDTV Imagine concurs, “Though the star presence does lure the audience, the format of the show has to be interesting enough to bring them back week after week. Indian televiewers don’t watch the show only for the stars; they do so to see the show and the questions and appreciate others’ talents and test their knowledge. Had they been watching the shows for just the star, they may as well go and watch their films.”

Siddhartha Basu, the brain behind both Dum and Kya Aap … had clarified the issue earlier and said, “There is certainly no comparison between the two shows. Both have entirely different concepts and are targeted at different audiences. While SRK’s show is a quiz show, Salman is hosting a game show.”

As Satish Datt, director of Rock n Roll Family on another channel, reveals, it is the format that is decided first and the star comes in much later. “A show is never conceptualised keeping a star in mind. It is always the other way round. We took Ajay and Kajol to judge our show for they fit our format.”

  46. One Slap after another Slap for Amitabh Bachchan Fans. Paanchvi Pas is yet another Hit for Shah Rukh Khan, while Sarkar Raj is yet another Flop of Amitabh Bachchan be it in India or Overseas.

  47. Sarkar Raj

Adlab, Z Picture Company and K Sera Sera’s Ramgopal Varma directed and much awaited sequel to SARKAR, the three Bachchan starrer, SARKAR RAJ, was one of the most (if not the most) awaited releases of the first half of 2008. The film had a fair first day in Bombay and South but the opening was by and large disappointing at many places. However, the film picked up quite well as the weekend progressed and Sunday saw quite a good turnout at many cinemas. Unfortunately, SARKAR RAJ has not been appreciated much outside Bombay circuit (barring Hyderabad and Calcutta) and its collections began to drop from Monday onwards, even in Maharashtra. Considering the heavy prices at which it has been sold, SARKAR RAJ’s final outcome will depend on its performance in the coming weeks. Checking out the first week numbers, SARKAR RAJ collected 4.80 crores from Bombay, 1.40 crores from Ahmedabad, 2.45 lakhs from Mehsana, 1.75 lakhs from Patan, 1.25 lakhs from Palanpur, 2.10 lakhs from Himmatnagar, 16.70 lakhs from Rajkot, 6 lakhs from Jamnagar, 5.85 lakhs from Bhavnagar,1.15 lakhs from Porbandar, 1.25 lakhs from Bhuj, 3.10 lakhs from Gandhidham, 1.40 lakhs from Adipur, 7 lakhs from Solapur, 14.20 lakhs from Nasik, 2.40 crores from Delhi city, 40 lakhs from Noida, 32.60 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 11.40 lakhs from Kanpur, 33 lakhs from Lucknow, 3.65 lakhs from Agra, 5.40 lakhs from Meerut, 3.65 lakhs from Moradabad, 2 lakhs from Bareilly, 4 lakhs from Aligarh, 63.20 lakhs from Gurgaon, 16.40 lakhs from Faridabad, 2.90 lakhs from Panipat, 1.05 crores from Calcutta, 3.05 lakhs from Guwahati, 29.20 lakhs from Nagpur, 2 lakhs from Jabalpur, 3.50 lakhs from Amravati, 2.20 lakhs from Akola, 30 lakhs from Indore, 2.30 lakhs (gross) from Ajmer, 3.60 lakhs from Bikaner, 28.70 lakhs from Jaipur, 1 crore from Hyderabad and 5.70 lakhs from Aurangabad. During the week, the Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer managed a fairly decent 23.85 crores from India and another reasonable week may see it sail through to safety, especially in Bombay and parts of South. Unfortunately, SARKAR RAJ crashed heavily in the Overseas (around 70-72 percent) during the second weekend. The film grossed $833,005 in the US and $605,289 in the UK. Given the fact that EROS International has procured the rights for 7-8 crores, even recovery looks difficult.

Box Office Status: Flop in Overseas and might reach Below Average in India BUT STILL TILL DATE A MAJOR FLOP

  48. ARUN 18TH JUNE REPORT

Mixed bag!- By Taran Adarsh, June 18, 2008 - 08:59 IST

MERE BAAP PEHLE AAP has had a mediocre start in U.K. In view of the fact that the film was released on 30 + screens, it should’ve ideally grossed £ 1,50,000 + in its opening weekend [incl. previews on Thursday night]… SUMMER 2007 is a debacle in U.K.; the opening weekend numbers are pathetic… DASAVATHARAM [Tamil film] has fetched a superb start in U.K., surpassing all Hindi films running there… SARKAR RAJ has dropped drastically in the three major markets — U.K. [drop: 72%], U.S.A. 54. After milking the novelty of a fool proof show, i.e. KBC, Big B cowardly abandoned it as soon as the ratings started to slip. On the other hand inspite of the rot that had set in thanks to Big B and the fact that the novelty had worn off, inspite of all the negative press, SRK embraced the challenge and resuscitated KBC.

    KBC 3 creates new record

    AL CHOUGULE
Posted online: Friday, February 16, 2007 at 0000 hours IST

Following its cracking opening-week performance, KBC 3 with Shah Rukh Khan as host, has reached 47 million viewers in the second week, which is ten million more than the show’s first week reach of 37 million individuals. The show opened with 12.3 TVRs and for the first week it delivered an average TRP of 9.7. For the second week, according to TAM Media Research data, KBC got an average TRP of 9.1. In comparison KBC 2 which was a weekend show had opened with 19.75 TVRs and reached 18 million individuals.

“These are historic numbers,” says Star India’s Vice-president Ajay Vidyasagar. “In the history of satellite television in India no show has delivered such eyeballs and achieved such widespread reach in just two weeks.” Vidyasagar says KBC 3 is a much bigger success and apart from the content the Shah Rukh Khan factor has clearly swayed the mass audience in its favour. “It is a sign of good content winning, maturing of audience in the cable & satellite homes and the increased reach of satellite television besides of course SRK effect which is showing clear signs of picking up further in coming weeks. People are beginning to love him for his warm, breezy, funny and tongue-in-cheek humour and style of anchoring,” says Vidyasagar.

What’s more, in two weeks spread over eight episodes, KBC has also racked in Rs. 24 crores in advertising revenue. Besides raking in mega bucks in ad sales, the show has also taken STAR Plus’ 9 to 10 pm slot to a new high. Before the launch of KBC it was a neck-to-neck fight between STAR Plus and Zee in the 9 to 10 pm slot with STAR’s channel share at 17 per cent against Zee’s 16 per cent. In two weeks the game show has helped the channel increase its share from 17 to 31 per cent while Zee’s share has gone down to 14 per cent.

Ever since the first week’s TRP figures were released by TAM on Friday last week, there has been a constant comparison between SRK’s KBC and that of Bachchan’s KBC 1 and KBC 2. The comparison is clearly aimed at gauging whether SRK’s KBC is a hit or flop over that of Bachchan’s two seasons. But such a comparison is not only unfair but also unjustified simply because the whole market reality and reach of satellite television has undergone a sea change in the past seven years.

Much water has flown under the bridge between July 2000 when the first edition of the show was launched and January 2007 when the third season of the show with SRK opened. To understand the TRP numbers in proper perspective one needs to understand the cable and satellite television’s growth in terms of reach, market, audience profile and time spent on show/s as well as the changes in the size of the sample size, geographical spread and methodology used by TAM to calculate TRP numbers.

For instance, between 1997 and 2002 the panel size (number of PeopleMeters) was 3200 but post- National Readership Survey (NRS) 2002, the panel size was increased to 4800 covering all cities, regions and towns with one lakh-plus population. Post-NRS 2005 which had thrown up drastic changes in market reality, the panel size has been increased to 7000 PeopleMeters, covering 151 cities from the earlier 73.

In 2000 there were 25 million cable and satellite homes. KBC 1 which opened with 10.7 TVRs was watched by about nine million viewers. In 2005 there were 45 million cable and satellite homes and KBC 2 reached 18 million viewers in the opening week. Today there are 65 million cable and satellite homes and KBC reached 37 million viewers in the first week and 47 million in the second week. “There is no denying that KBC 3 has got more eyeballs but that’s also because the reach of satellite television has increased substantially, nearly three times the number in 2000,” says TAM Media Research’s Corporate Communication Manager Siddhartha Mukherji.

According to Mukherji, comparison is based on individual perception. “Comparison was bound to happen because KBC was synonymous with Bachchan. The first week was a testing time for Shah Rukh. It took him some time to warm up and connect with viewers who were used to watching Bachchan as the host,” says Mukherji. “But the industry was interested in knowing how SRK’s KBC opened and whether it is a hit or flop. There are 100 factors that determine TRPs which in turn determine the fate of a show and one week is too short a time to pass a definite verdict. But people were in a hurry to judge it.” TRPs, according to Siddhartha, are determined by reach and time spent. “But there is no doubt that KBC has reached more viewers,” he adds. Thus when it comes to getting eyeballs KBC 3 has scored a clear victory over the previous two seasons of the show.

  56. The badshah of Bollywood — Shahrukh Khan — will once again be seen on the small screen as he gets back on the tube to host the season four of KBC.

It is time again to sharpen your general knowledge and get ready to take the hot seat for the next season of KBC. At the Global Indian Television Honours, after Shahrukh Khan walked away with the award for the Best Talk show, it seems quiet natural that he host the next season too.

Siddharth Basu, the man behind KBC, who walked away with an award for his dance show ‘Jhalak Dikjla Ja’ says: “Synergy Adlabs had entered into a contract with Star Television for five KBC seasons last year. We have atleast four seasons remaining. According to the agreement, SRK will feature in the season four.”

Basu, who is thrilled with his success as Synergy Adlabs won two awards this year says, “I am pleased that Synergy Adlabs has got two awards, one for third season of ‘KBC’ and the other for ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ for the first season.”

It’s surely a good news for all avid TV watchers as they will get a chance to witness Shahrukh’s charismatic performance in KBC for yet another year as the charming actor will keep the viewers glued to the television screen.

From dancing with the stars to quizzing with the Badshah of Bollywood, Siddharth Basu certainly has his hands full.

  61. Arun For You! Read and then go to Hell.

Yesterday on E-tonight on CNN IBN - the guy was pretty sarcastic abt Abhishek promoting motorola cell phones and said something to the effect that …’with Sarkar Raj collections falling badly in week 2, AB Jr will have to do more than sell phones to win over the public….and that it is quite funny to see him say that “this is the best phone” everytime motorola comes up with a new model”

    - Also, a couple of days back on NDTV night out, they said that Abhishek’s brand value is falling and is at the moment quite weak in comparison to that of Big B and Ash since his movies are not doing well. They then said that with Sarkar Raj too not doing well there is a lot for him to worry about. Then they added that even though SR is not doing well, Bachchan family is travelling all over to promote the movie…that may be because of their extensive travel they have missed the fact that the movie is doing badly and therefore continue to promote it

  62. arun,

“YOU CAN FOOL ONE PERSON ALL THE TIME, ALL PERSON ONE TIME, BUT NOT ALL PERSON ALL THE TIME”.

You are absolutely right, the audience have become very clever that audience is keeping there slf away from bachans and the proof is that sarkar raj is biggest flop of indian industry, and that is the resaon 8/10 SRK movies been hit in last decade and wheras 44/47 of BIG B movies been flop.

You cant really fool the people all the time for sure.(BIG B ,are you listening??)

  63. arun,

You are a grossly confused frustu.

Do you think people love SRK because he is getting all these awards. You fool.actually the otherway round is true.He is getting awards because he is popular.

Even is SRK gets awards unethically, whats your problem ,you frustu.

Love your actor (Whoever it may be) and keep quiet.
We dont wannt to listen crappy speaches from you.

    Thanks a lot.

    “”The bubble has burst. “””

Since last seventeen year ,BIG B camp is hoping that the bubble of SrK would burst. The bubble is too subtle to burst(Ifvthere is any) ,dear. And the bacchans realsie this.

In the process their own (the Bachanistas)bubble has already burst some time back.It has burst big time with highest number of disasters(Both the bachhans put together have given the highedst number of disaters in film history)

So dream for the bubble bursting for another 17 years.Goog Lock arun.

  65. Guys ,

    there is another stats.

SRK movies(only 2) in 2007 collected a total of 210 cr nett worldwide.

Wher as BIG B movies (4 of them )collected a total of 90 cr worlwide

Abishek smovies (2 of them) have collected 85 cr worlewide.

So bothe BIG B and Abhiskek put together have collected 175 cr in 6 movies in 2007.

Now arun, who is a bubble. Its the Bachhans or SRK???

  66. SRK movies(only 2) in 2007 collected a total of 210 cr nett worldwide

shahrukh khan is day by day getting better acting wise and he has prove many times and will prove this yr before this yr bells ring

so watch out king is coming again

  67. and just leave shahrukh khan take akshay, amir, salman, hrithik, saif

they r all gud actors than buchans and they have their strong boxoffice control than bachans even their films reach up to the avg level but looki at buchans first they open the movie to 40% with more than 700 cinema shame on buchans and then sarkar raj is out from cinema in second week shame on them

even hrithik completly over shadow buchans in dhoom2

and shahrukh khan has many time overshadow buchans like in k3g,mohabbatein,kank

kank had the gud opening because only of shahrukh khan presence their in movie

but when amitab and abshek said on one tv channel that kank is there film the film crahsed from their own ward although the film was hit due to only srk presence due to srk boxoffice power

and buchans has thanga this yr

SR is a biggest flop and will always remain so…..in the history of bollywood.Shah Rukh Khan is the king and have reached legendary status in popularity. Long live King Khan. Amitabh type of Stars will come and go, but Shah Rukh Khan will remain at top inshallah. Right now, SRK is ruling with his new show Panchwi Paas also and distributers are ready to work with him again soon as they r planning new show with srk soon , amitab was all hype and nothing else. the bubble has burst and since he does not know any acting, he is finfding difficult to sustain himself now….

    and srk long time ago

now with sarkar raj abhishek and aish carrer is over soon

and their place would be fill by saif, akshay, salman, amir khan, hrithik, deepik, sonam, anushka, niel nitin mukesh, harman, and many more in indutry

as shahrukh khan and amir khan has finish amitab career in late 80s and in 90s start

I have asked you some questions.I belive you would answer them quickly.

    1.What is acting???
    2.What is great acting??
3.What is the yard stick of acting??
4.who decides what is good acting and what is bad acting????
5.Does the performance in romantic role doesnt qualify as acting??

6.Is Only heavy duty emotional roles qualify as acting??
7.Why does BIG B performace in SILSILa is termed as good acting, where as SRKs KANK performace is discounted???

8.Isnt SRKS DDLJ is one of the finest performance of all time??

I need some objectivity from Bacchan fans. Kindly answer this nobjectively without dodging them.

  76. My definition of acting.

    ANYTHING THAT TOUCHES YOUR HESART.

When something touches our heart we appreciate it.On that count SRK is being appreciated by the public as they throng to the theaters.Discounting this fact is not only foolish but pure case of propaganda.

Who are the critics???A bunch of jokers???

They cant decide what is acting is all about. What is the meaning of acting when there would be no body to see it.(Dozens of naseeruddin and OM pURI movies)

These guys are self proclaimed great actors.( NAseeruddin shah,Om Puri etc)

I still belive BIG was one of the finest actors in Bollywood. But i having said that ,his acting powers habve detiorated drastically in last 5-6 years.

Because people do not like his acting, his movies are bombing left right and centre.

The sooner BIG B realises this, better for him.

  77. Arun,

We dont need great actors in this indutstry who will bore us by no count.

    We need entertainers.

See what happned to Dasavataram.Kamal hassan is one of the so called great actors.(By Critics)But why does always Rajni kanth movie do bumper biz even if he is not a great actor from critics point of view.

The answer is Rajni is a great entertainer. And this is what importnat to the public.

We need more rajni kanths ,SRKs in the industry so that the industry can fare better finacilly.

Even i always belive that BIG B is a better entertainers than a good actor. As long as BIG B was entertainig the public his did well at the BO.

The moment he staterd to please the critics, the public stared to reject him.

  84. What a Performances this is called a Great Actor + Real Super Star. Way to go:-

    BAAZIGAR
“The biggest strength of the movie is Shah Rukh Khan’s superlative performance. It really raises the bar of the movie. BAAZIGAR also witnesses the rising of a new star in the form of Shah Rukh Khan who has the power to carry a film solely on his shoulders.”

    KABHI HAAN KABHI NAA
“Shah Rukh Khan gives a wonderful performance; his sense of comedic timing is perfect in each scene. Most of the film, barring the romance scenes, requires him to be comedic and his talent is evident there.”

    DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE
“Shah Rukh Khan does a wonderful job, in both his dancing and his acting.”

    RAM JAANE
“Shah Rukh Khan performance as Ram Jaane is just amazing, he looked like a thug, he talked like a gangster, he acted like a criminal, and no one could have played this character better.”

    YES BOSS
“Shah Rukh Khan has played his character excellent. He has displayed all of his talents in a nutshell as Rahul. Serious, Sad and Angry as well as Humorous and Excited are played with delicacy and enthusiasm by Shah Rukh Khan. Only his role in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has come close to this movie.”

    PARDES
“Shah Rukh Khan has given a flawless performance. His acting as Arjun is subtle yet very powerful.”

    DIL TO PAGAL HAI
“Shah Rukh Khan dominates the movie. His role as Rahul is played valiantly and may be deserving of an award.”

    DUPLICATE
“Shah Rukh Khan has played both characters so distinctly that the audience has no difficulty differentiating between the two.”

    Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
“Shah Rukh Khan is almost perfect in his role as Rahul and balances both the archie-ish college kid and later, the widower looking out for his daughter at a even pitch. He makes people laugh, cry through his emotions. It is one of his most accessible and charming performances in recent times.Undoubtedly the best performance of the year.”

    BAADSHAH
“Shah Rukh Khan has done terrific job. It’s difficult to imagine anyone else carrying off the role with such conviction.”

    JOSH
“Shah Rukh Khan excels as Max. He looks the character and performs it with utmost sincerity. This is undoubtedly one of the best performances of his career.”

    ASOKA
“Shah Rukh Khan essays his part with enthusiasm. It won’t be wrong to state that this is amongst his finest performances.”

    DEVDAS
“Shah Rukh Khan is mindblowing as Devdas. He plays his character with such finesse and aplomb that it is sheer delight to watch him. He evokes the right kind of emotions in the viewers’ hearts, never once going overboard. He looks splendid and mesmerises the audience with his acting in many scenes. As a man madly in love, he proves that there could have been no better choice than him for the role.”

    CHALTE CHALTE
“CHALTE CHALTE clearly belongs to Shah Rukh Khan, an actor par excellence. One actually runs out of adjectives and personifications if asked to describe this performance by the actor. Clearly his most natural and likeable performance since DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE, Shah Rukh Khan surrenders himself completely to the script and delivers a performance that is bound to be a big hit with one and all.”

    MAIN HOON NAA
“MAIN HOON NAA reinforces your confidence in Shah Rukh Khan, the actor, the star. Portraying a mass-appealing character, the actor gives his best shot and delivers yet another power-packed performance. The role not only does full justice to his status as the country’s super-star, but also as a performer. Besides, the two stunts in the film [his introduction and towards the finale] will silence his hardcore critics who felt that the actor was more comfortable handling the DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE, KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI and KAL HO NAA HO kind of roles.”

    VEER - ZAARA
“VEER-ZAARA is another feather in Shah Rukh Khan’s well decorated cap. The actor enacts the challenging role with amazing ease, putting his best foot forward and emerging trumps. It would indeed be difficult to imagine any other actor essaying the two diverse parts. Simply unforgettable!”

    SWADES
“Shah Rukh Khan is extremely likeable. He stands firm on his feet in dramatic sequences, confirming yet again that he’s not merely a super-star, but a super actor as well.”

    PAHELI
“If you ever had an iota of doubt about Shah Rukh Khan’s versatility, it would evaporate the moment you watch PAHELI. This is amongst Shah Rukh Khan’s most accomplished performances ever. He is fabulous as the ghost and equally convincing as the bewildered husband.”

DON - THE CHASE BEGINS AGAIN
“Shah Rukh Khan’s performance in the film is expectedly outstanding. It is one of the most stylish performance of his entire career. As Don he is ruthless and cunning and as Vijay his dialogue delivery and comic timing are worth applauding. Hats off to him for playing the Don and Vijay effortlessly. It would not be wrong to say that Don could not be Don without Shah Rukh Khan.”

    CHAK DE! INDIA
“Shah Rukh Khan is the soul of CHAK DE! INDIA. What you see on screen would be half of what it is without this matchless actor. He makes you feel what you are supposed to feel. A performance that’s sure to go down as one of his finest works so far.”

    Om Shanti Om
“Shah Rukh Khan has given a superlative performance and once again shows why he is called Baadshah of bollywood. He is par excellence and entertains the audience from the word go. He does a superb job in his double role and carries the whole film on his shoulders. He is soul of the film and you can see him doing the things in a very natural and confident way. His portrayal of eccentricity as a super star is just fabulous.”

And the Great Performances continues by the Legend of Indian Cinema King Khan

  87. I hate amitabh bachchan now.HE has gone mad.To make his son great,he has driven animosity between him and other stars like Shahrukh,Salman,Hrithik….and even Aamir. He also cannot digest the fact that Shahrukh is favourite among all today and also shahrukh has more awards than him.He is just soo jealous.Age ho gaya aur buddha satiyagaya bolathe hai na….

  88. No doubt, shahrukh has more hits than Amitabh. He is down to earth and was friendly in KBC.Amitabh is KBC just worked because it was the first of its kind of show.Else he is never really a comfortable person to talk to, he does not appear friendly…
