Sarkar Raj-A Self Proclaimed Hit
Sarkar Raj which is not doing well at the box office is being claimed as a hit by the makers and the team of the film by splashing posters around the country which call it a hit and its actors are calling it a hit in interviews while collections tell a different story.
The team of Sarkar Raj should know better that a film can never become a hit like this and are probably trying to get some extra mileage so the public believes its a hit and they get a few extra footfalls but the public is far too smart for this and are keeping well away from the film.
Distributors around India give their views on Sarkar Raj:
Avtar Singh Kochar Of Gunjan Films and Dolly Films, Delhi
“As Per my knowledge Sarkar Raj was sold for 6 crore in Delhi,UP and Punjab and will only be able to recover 3 crore. Since the film is backed by a corporate giant they are scared to accept the fact that the film is a flop.”

“The Rajasthan distributor, Sahara One will lose almost 50% of its investment. On Thursday 12th June , Sarkar Raj collected just Rs700 in its morning show at Galaxy, Jaipur. How can the film be declared a hit.”

“The film is doing fairly well at multiplexes but the collections at single plexes range between 8-10%. I think the film sold was for 1.25 crore in West Bengal but looking at its collections, it will only be able to recover about 80-85 lakhs. The collections are much below Mr Amitabh Bachchan’s other movies . In fact Bhoothnath collected more money than Sarkar Raj.”
Sarkar Raj Crashes In Indore
Sarkar Raj has shown huge drops in its second week at Indore multiplexes. Although all of the country may not show similar drops its almost certain that the film has not sustained anywhere in India and as has been said on this site before that the film is definitely not a hit which the team of Sarkar Raj would like everyone to believe.

Sarkar Raj fell in week two and now will not cover its costs for its International distributor Eros International. The 10 day total is 8.75 crore with 2.50 crore coming from UK, 3.50 crore from North America and the rest of the world adding 2.75 crore. The film is likely to finish at around 9.50 crore business from overseas markets. FLOP
SARKAR RAJ has dropped drastically in the three major markets — U.K. [drop: 72%], U.S.A. [drop: 73.8%] and Australia [drop: 75.1%].

I don’t trust Taran Adarsh either. Poor Komal Nahta has been moved from ZEE TV, and substitute is TARAN. Zee Management is not understandable, they moved SWEETEST TWINKLE KHANNA from ZEE as well.

Mere Baap Pehle Aap is fair in the overseas market against its costs and opened to a decent response in UK and Middle East. The three day total is 2.25 crore with UK contributing 85 lakhs, UAE adding 60 lakhs and North America grossing 50 lakhs.

YET HIS FILMS DREW CROWD SOLEY ON HIS NAME ONLY. AND THAT WAS HIS STAR PRESENCE WHICH TILL DATE, NO OTHER ACTOR HAS SHOWN WITH THE EXCEPTION OF AAMIR/AKSHAY AND THAT’S WHY HE’S BETTER THAN SRK. EVERYONE INCL. SRK WANTS TO PLAY SAFE BY WORKING WITH YRF AND JOHARS SO THAT THEY KNOW HALF OF THE BATTLE IS ALREADY WON THEN. ALSO THE ACTRESSES NEVER PLAYED THE MAJOR PART IN BIG B’S FILMS. AND IT WAS LEFT TO BIG B ALONE TO DO COMEDY, ACTION & DISPLAY EMOTION WITH EQUAL EASE. THAT IS THE TRUE MARK OF A SUPERSTAR. SRK FAILS ON ALL THE ABOVE ASPECTS AND HENCE CAN’T BE COMPARED TO SRK.

NOTE THAT IF I START ANALYSING BIG B’S FILMOGRAPHY JUST LIKE I HAVE DONE ABOVE FOR SRK, HIS RULING YEARS WILL FURTHER INCREASE WITH HITS AND MISSES CONCEPT (NOT IN CONTINUOUS) BECUASE HE’S GIVING HITS EVEN AT AGE 66. mitabh has proven himself to be an artist first, then a star or superstar if you so wish! SRK may have been labelled a star/superstar/king, etc but he is still to prove himself as an artist in the true sense of the word. Dilip was in a class of his own, so is amitabh. I guess SRK was fortunate to have come at a time when there was very little competition and with just the right ‘formular’ for that time. This earned him his little spot in the sun. So Amitabh fans let ‘King Khan’ be.
Purely on acting skills its AB all the way from folk, village guy, suave and sophisticated, villaneous, you name it he has managed to pull of all the roles CONVINCINGLY. Thats the true calibre of an actor. The very fact that he is still around and going strong is AMAZING. The very fact that people still remember and adore him (young or old, boys or girls) and want to watch him is AMAZING. How many actually remember say a Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor,Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Mithun. Its Amitabh who is still going strong. In SRK’s time, lets also not forget its not SRK alone the real toughies are Aamir, Akshay Kumar, Salman, Saif who are doing very good in India and abroad going by the Box Office. But then Amitabh is Vintage, watch him, relax and enjoy those tremendous acting skills. The voice, presentation, personality the tremendous screen presence, and most importantly the DIALOGUE DELIVERY,ahem no one comes close. The very fact that Iam writing so much and so many are writing about him comparing him with the newest breeds, is indeed a compliment to him and already makes him the best. Amitabh entire Solo Filmography cann’t be matched to Shah Rukh Khan 3 Great Movies DDLJ, CDI & DEVDAS.
As for Performances Amitabh entire career performances are no match to 3 great performances CDI, SWADES & DEVDAS.
Forget that it is also no match for Vaastav, Satya, Rangeela, etc.

BIG B is from 1 to 10.
SR is a hit and Bhootnath was another one this year.
BIG B is incomparable even at age 66.
SRK should be first compared to Rahul Roy as Rahul Roy’s first film was a blockbuster and SRK’s film was not. SRK deserves to be compared only with the likes of Deepak Tijori, Rahul Roy, Sharad Kapoor, Chandrachur singh, Mukul Dev, Aditya Pancholi & Javed jaafri. INfact even Javed jaafri is better actor than SRK, atleast hs can do comedy which SRK has never been able to do.
Aamir, Hrithik and Akshay are all 11 no. onwards to Amitabh. Amitabh jab tak indisutry mein hai, no body can beat him. He is the best.

In ‘Sarkar Raj’, we see the emergence of Bachchan II. Small B has, finally, stepped into the shoes of Angry Young Man. The junior never for once flinches in the presence of his mighty dad. Nor is he overshadowed by his charming wife. Abhishek Bachchan, as Shankar Nagre, is one for the textbook.
The screenplay of ‘Sarkar Raj’, which is low on dialogue, poses a challenge to all actors concerned. Abhishek gets over this hurdle with admirable ease. He internalises the character, delivers a controlled performance, and proves once again that he is invincible. On his day, that is!
The net collection for Sarkar Raj stands at Rs. 20,40,14,150 at the end of Week 1 at the Indian Box-office. It has also taken a record-breaking initial overseas.

In BIG B’s time, there was a concept of diamond jubilee, platinum jubilee…..which in SRK’s time is not there. Becuase no film is able to complete that time. Not even OSO abd CDI.
