SARKAR RAJ has turned out to be a success at the box office. Even though some media reports have been questioning the film’s pull, especially after a huge number of prints that the film was released at, the fact remains that over 23 crores coming in the first week means that at the least SARKAR RAJ would prove to be an average success at the box office.
The kind of collections that have poured in for the film aren’t mind blowing but they are nowhere near being poor. In fact for a change, most of the reports too have been guarded as no one from the trade has stood up and called the film as a failure. The talks have mainly been centered around ‘Why didn’t the film take an earth shattering start in spite of featuring the towering trio from the Bachchan family’.
While in case of RAM GOPAL VARMA KI AAG, it was crystal clear after the first show itself that the film was a failure, and hence everyone associated with it - especially Ramu - was pulled down, SARKAR RAJ has troubled a few in a different way. Because the film didn’t under perform in a way as some would have expected, the focus shifted on - ‘Collections are good but not very good’!
However, most seem to be ignoring an all important point that Ram Gopal Varma has finally managed to end his poor box office run with SARKAR RAJ which now happens to be the biggest first week money spinner of his career. In fact the film has even created city records at a few centers that seem to have gone unnoticed by majority of trade pundits.
Says a prominent distributor on condition of anonymity, “There is a definite tirade out there that wants the world to believe that distributors are loosing sleep over SARKAR RAJ. No, we are not. The film has earned us the moolah and the kind of subject it comes with, you can’t expect a slam-bang job where a film earns over the first weekend and disappears. The film has entered the second week in a strong position as well and we don’t foresee anything much fall in days to come.”
Well, with MERE BAAP PEHLE AAP not quite taking a thunderous opening that could steal away a lot from SARKAR RAJ, looks like Ramu, Bachchan and Co. may eventually have the final smile, if not a roaring laugh!

The actual reviewer is the audience. And audience is having mixed response and but no one says its an excellent fare. In fact the movie is not so great to spend money. You can wait till it get telecast ed on satellite channels or you can wait till the original CD gets released because I hate piracy.
And again it would have been great if it would have the substance of 50% of the prequel. But in vain. Anyway All the best to RGV for his next venture without the Stars of the Millennium.

In Bhootnath Shah Rukh Khan was there. When you can give credit to Amitabh and Manoj for Veer - Zaara, then Shah Rukh Khan had bigger role in Bhootnath compared to there combined role in Veer-Zaara. So Shah Rukh Khan gives yet another success to Amitabh after Mohabbtein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Veer - Zaara. While in return Amitabh gives him Flop in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna critically from people’s point of you not from Box Office point of you. There is a desparete attempt from the Bacchan brigade to declare the movie as a hit.Because ,with the failure of this movie ,the entire bacchan clan would loose their market value(Money wise) and also the endorsements.
So they are trying their best to project it as a hit.The entire bacchan propaganda machinery is at work.They know very well that the movie has not done well as expected from the bacchan family(Since all the three bacchans were there).

I my earliers posts,before the release of the movie,i have stated that a RGV film have never crossed the mark of 25 cr .
So definitely a 20 Cr opening has to be his biggest opening for RGV.But RGV never released a movie on such a high scale either.At best he released his movis with 400 printcount.
But the point is ,with such a big release,big hype,the entire bacchan clan in the movie and brand name of SARJAR means it should atlesat have collcted 35 cr + .
If it woould have done that ,then the Bacchans and their fans have every right to feel that the BIG B is back at the BO.

If I get the collections, I will do it. These days I am not keeping much check on collections, my friends inform me what is happening at the Box Office. They informed me that in 2nd Week Sarkar Raj dropped to 60% and which BOI is also said that in 2nd week it crashed. My expectations for it’s 2nd week is around 2 or 3 Corers.
As for the Movie itself. I didn’t liked it. Sarkar was very good and Sarkar Raj was bad. Basically Ram Gopal Verma according to me is finished as director.

I think is that people and some of the media guys are in hurry to declare Sarkar Raj as flop. As of today in Mumbai and Delhi more than 100 shows are running per day. In Ahmedabad close to 73 shows are running while above 60 shows per day running in Pune. Nearly 53 shows running in Calcutta while 26 shows per day in Indore. Imagine about the number of shows running in other parts of the country. Theater owners will not run the movie unless they are getting viewers. So Sarkar Raj is already a hit.

Sarkar Raj is a film with political theme -Maharashtra politics -Raj Thackeray vs Amitabh Bachchan! Politics is not the cup of tea of common citizens and also of ace actor Amitabh Bachchan. But his name is being used (mis-used) more often in politics because of his close association with Amar Singh and old relations of his family with Rajiv Gandhi family. Besides it, this film is the worst ever film of Amitabh Bachchan I have seen!
Its music (if it can be called music) is too loud and a headache. It has too many murders (reflection of present society, politics and business rivalry!)
It is also to promote Bachchan family -son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwrya (through Ram Gopal, director/ producer). Just do not waste time in a cinema hall for it
