Times: So has television finally laid rest to the question - who is the biggest star? In a clash between Bollywood biggies, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, it is SRK whose game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? that appears to be doing better, according to snap polls done by aMap in six metros.

The overnight audience measurement agency, aMap, has suggested that while Roshan attracted an average television rating of 0.82% for his music-based contest Junoon - Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka , Salman’s Das Ka Dum (DKD) could only garner a TRP of 1.65%.

Both were launched on June 6 after much hype and promotion. DKD promises an astounding cash prize of Rs 10 crore besides getting to watch Salman dance to his favourite numbers on the set.

Junoon , on the other hand, is a music show for which Roshan is a “goodwill ambassador”. However, SRK is not nicknamed King Khan for nothing.

His show Kya Aap… - that was launched on April 25 - got off to a better start. The quiz show enjoyed a TRP of 2.7 on the first day.

The show that evaluates the participant’s knowledge on information that a fifth class student knows, has dipped in popularity since its launch. Industry experts have blamed the low ratings to the IPL season that consumed public interest earning TRPs of 7 or 8.

Even in its peak rating, the Indian version of Are you Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? has beaten both Salman Khan and Roshan with a peak rating of 3.5%. DKD had a peak rating of 2.6 while Junoon barely managed a rating of 1.1.

Incidentally, Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 - another show hosted by SRK last year - did better than the three that are currently running. While its average rating was 3.4%, it had a peak rating of 4.9%.

MUMBAI: Shahrukh Khan seems to have cast magic on the ratings as he played host for the first time in the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, replacing megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Putting all anxiety to rest for the broadcaster Star Plus, KBC 3 opened with a market share of 24.36 per cent in the Hindi speaking segment of NWE (north, west, east) India, according to aMap’s overnight TV rating system.

In comparison to the previous Mondays of 2007, iin which Star Plus garnered 12.4 per cent, this is not only a much larger share but almost double of the average ratings.
The actual number of viewers that were reached by KBC 3 in NWE India is 9.16 million. On an All India Level 10.29 million people were reached. And with Tamil general entertainment channel Star Vijay also adding up the audiences, 11.3 million people were reached on an All India level.

aMap highlighted a key trend of the programme on its opening day that indicates that ‘King Khan’ managed to retain the viewers after every break taken. The ratings kept on increasing after each break, and the last sequence got the highest ratings.

The show managed a jump of 91.5 per cent for the ratings per cent of Star Plus and almost all Star channels and genres got impacted due to the show.

In fact, 1.3 million people switched on their TV sets just to watch KBC, in NWE India. In terms of SEC, SEC A and B got higher numbers than the others. The ratings show that the more affluent target groups watched a lot more of KBC. Target groups like graduates, businessmen, self-employed professionals got the highest numbers.

Additionally, people living in small households, four and below, got more ratings than people staying in households with five more people.

Also, among the 20 brands that advertised on the show, Motorola’s Motophone advertisment was rated the highest.

Analysts are, however, cautious, saying that the ratings have to be watched over a loonger period to arrive at any conclusions

No one has labelled Sarkar Raj as Hit except for Ibos. Komal Nahta and Vinod Mirani has already said it is Flop. BOI as best will give it Below Average. Same for Taran Adarsh Average to dull the classification that he gave to Bhootnath. 40 Corers it’s need to get Hit Status and 2nd week it will collect around 2 or 3 Corers which takes it’s total to 25 Corers, so Hit is ruled out already.

SARKAR RAJ has turned out to be a success at the box office. Even though some media reports have been questioning the film’s pull, especially after a huge number of prints that the film was released at, the fact remains that over 23 crores coming in the first week means that at the least SARKAR RAJ would prove to be an average success at the box office.

The kind of collections that have poured in for the film aren’t mind blowing but they are nowhere near being poor. In fact for a change, most of the reports too have been guarded as no one from the trade has stood up and called the film as a failure. The talks have mainly been centered around ‘Why didn’t the film take an earth shattering start in spite of featuring the towering trio from the Bachchan family’.

While in case of RAM GOPAL VARMA KI AAG, it was crystal clear after the first show itself that the film was a failure, and hence everyone associated with it - especially Ramu - was pulled down, SARKAR RAJ has troubled a few in a different way. Because the film didn’t under perform in a way as some would have expected, the focus shifted on - ‘Collections are good but not very good’!

However, most seem to be ignoring an all important point that Ram Gopal Varma has finally managed to end his poor box office run with SARKAR RAJ which now happens to be the biggest first week money spinner of his career. In fact the film has even created city records at a few centers that seem to have gone unnoticed by majority of trade pundits.

Amitabh can’t compete with Shah Rukh Khan in any department of acting forget Shah Rukh Khan he is not in league of Shahid..be it emotions, be it romance, be it action, be it comedy. Shah Rukh Khan is just class apart and comparing Big B to SRK is an insult to the indian film industry as first Amitabh needs to learn acting and then think of getting compared to an institution like Shah Rukh Khan.

A. The film is not doing well in week two there will be a big fall in week two. The verdict will depend on business in Delhi/UP if it can gross 7.25 crore nett in the circuit and with Mumbai and a couple of other circuits being cost coverage at worst it is likely to end at below average. The film is going to be a flop or below average with outside chance of average status.

and i feel really great that Manoj Kumar has decided to file a defamatory case against SRK and Farah. After all they both wouldn’t have dared to do this for Dilip Kumar or Feroz Khan. Why the bastards did to manoj Kumar is quite evident here. Anyways God will punish them and now SRK’s time will be over soon.

Mr. Amitabh Agent Taran Adrsh has Declared Sarkar Raj as Average in Mumbai, Maharashtra, South Only. He has not Declared it Hit. So out of 5 Major Sources only 1 has Declared it Average, while other 4 Flop.
