SRK to play Rizwan Khan in Karan Johar’s KHAN?
Karan Johar is currently in Bangkok for the IIFA awards and once he’s back, he will get busy with his film My Name Is Khan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, and in all likelihood, will commence shooting towards the end of the year.
SRK plays Rizwan Khan, a character, who has the Asperger syndrome, which is one of several autism spectrum disorders and is characterised by difficulties in social interaction amongst other things in the film. If word is to be believed, then Karan is contemplating changing the protagonist’s name in his film from Rizwan Khan, to something else.
The reason being that Vivek Oberoi’s character in Apoorva Lakhia’s next, Mission Istanbul, which is slated for a July release, is also called Rizwan Khan. Since Karan’s film is titled after the protagonist, the need to change the name to one that is uncommon at least as far as film characters go, seems understandable. Now, it remains to be seen whether Karan actually goes ahead and changes the name to something else or sticks to his original Rizwan Khan.

Its difficult to predict how big a hit it will be ,as you rightly said Karan is entering in to a different territory.(It would depend on the films merit)
But one thing for sure,this movie would open biiiig worldwide.(half the BO battle own)
Hit or a flop….Don’t be so overconfident esp. when Panchwi paas is fail. It garnered 1.2 TRP rating last week. SUperstar , my foot!!!
I like it when Karan Johar give SRK new look but I and the some of King Khan’s Fan in Kaduna Nigeria prefers that: the name Rizwan Khan should be change to a name like IQBAL KHAN or others.

i think you keep yourself updated with SRK info more than his fans….who cares what the trps are all i know that everybody just LOVE THE SHOW…i dont know what to say to indian people…i live here in uk and watch it on net so do many more ppl but we all love the show and SRk’s hosting and its for the first time that we feel that a quiz show is like a real quiz show because the questions are not so easy as in many other shows…so you all go and check yourselves by a doctor if you dont watch an educated and entertaining show like KAPPSH…

Yes, I totatlly agree with you, actually you have said what we think. In UK for how long the * WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE * show is going on & on, but no one wants to bother about this *TRP*. CHRIS TARRANT is still doing the show,and no one says he is FAILED, similarly other porgrams are still being watched and even if people are not hyper about it, still people don’t go against the program HOST that because of him, program’s this so called TRP is low…no,they just let the program carry on & on because its advantageous for the kids, and if SHAH RUKH KHAN has tried to give new image of another program in India, so, the people can inspire their children more & more to learn the general knowledge and it inspires the children to study more and more. now they have started to say that this * TRP* is low and that as well because of SHAH RUKH KHAN, I mean if there is something educational then it should have been appreciated … But I don’t think its the people, no, infact they must be very happy that their children may have started to pay more and more attention to their studies, I THINK its just all the battle of channels and rivalry and jealousy to put someone or someone’s program down in low TRP….I am not saying all these because I am SHAH RUKH KHAN’s fan, no, even if X Y Z STAR would have been the host, my comments would have been the same for such a nice program. becasue we do watch it here ( Are you smarter than a 10 grade )and its really nice program, and in fact kids and us just wait to watch.

SRK would take care of himself.Good or bad ,expect a 90 % opening atleast.
Because we all SRK fans would watch the movie right in the first week.

King of contests: SRK show tops TRP charts

NEW DELHI: So has television finally laid rest to the question - who is the biggest star? In a clash between Bollywood biggies, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and ShahRukh Khan, it is SRK whose game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? that appears to be doing better, according to snap polls done by aMap in six metros.
the overnight audience measurement agency, aMap, has suggested that while Roshan attracted an average television rating of 0.82% for his music-based contest Junoon - Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka , Salman’s Das Ka Dum (DKD) could only garner a TRP of 1.65%.
Both were launched on June 6 after much hype and promotion. DKD promises an astounding cash prize of Rs 10 crore besides getting to watch Salman dance to his favourite numbers on the set.
Junoon , on the other hand, is a music show for which Roshan is a “goodwill ambassador”. However, SRK is not nicknamed King Khan for nothing.
His show Kya Aap… - that was launched on April 25 - got off to a better start. The quiz show enjoyed a TRP of 2.7 on the first day.
The show that evaluates the participant’s knowledge on information that a fifth class student knows, has dipped in popularity since its launch. Industry experts have blamed the low ratings to the IPL season that consumed public interest earning TRPs of 7 or 8.
Even in its peak rating, the Indian version of Are you Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? has beaten both Salman Khan and Roshan with a peak rating of 3.5%. DKD had a peak rating of 2.6 while Junoon barely managed a rating of 1.1.
Incidentally, Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 - another show hosted by SRK last year - did better than the three that are currently running. While its average rating was 3.4%, it had a peak rating of 4.9%.
I think Rizwan Khan is alright even though Vivek has the same name in Mission Istanbul.
