Uday Chopra to direct Dhoom 3!

Change is the only constant in Bollywood’s biggest film empire, Yash Raj Films. And even as Aditya Chopra gets ready to direct his first film in eight years, the younger Chopra heir-apparent, Uday is all set to direct a film for papa’s prestigious production house. Uday will direct another part of the Dhoom brand.
According to our source, the decision to let Uday wield the camera for what will unarguably be a dhamaka product from the Yash Raj stable, was determined by two factors. “Firstly Sanjay Gadhvi, who directed the first and second part of Dhoom, opted out of the banner to branch out, leaving the hugely successful merchandise without a director. Many names were considered for the third part of Dhoom. But Uday seemed ideal because he had been with the product from the start, almost like an associate to Gadhvi. Uday is in fact highly qualified to be a director. Many people feel he should’ve gone into direction instead of acting.” The second reason why Uday is all set to change roles is his inability to make headway as an actor.
Adds our source, “Despite their best efforts, Yash Chopra and Aditya couldn’t make a star of Uday. They gave him tailor-made author-backed roles in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and Neal n Nikki. It bombed. And while his tapori act in Dhoom and Dhoom 2 was a hit, Uday unfortunately was not offered roles outside Yash Raj except for an occasional supari which no one wanted to chew. For the past year he has completely withdrawn from the public eye, planning his life ahead. Directing a film seemed the most logical thing to do.”
Dhoom 3, with Uday Chopra’s name as director, is likely to be launched after elder brother, Aditya Chopra completes Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
We messaged Uday asking him to confirm the story, but he did not revert.

SRK will be shooting a yash raj next year, dont know which one yet….there were rumers that SRK will be in uday chopras next..lets see

I think Uday is the right director for this film. Uday can do better job than Sanjay Gadhvi as in D2 where action director Allan Amin directed 75% of the film.

on the contrary ,it was due to sanjay gadhvi that both d1 and d2 were good entertainers ;we all know yrf have failed to create a dhoom like effect and sensation in tashan and there is high probability that d3 might sink as well now

It seemed that YRF wont appoint newcomer director for their films. But now they chose Uday Chopra for DHOOM:3. I dont knw why but I feel Uday will not be able to justice to the film.
But I may be wrong too; bcoz as the article says “Uday seemed ideal because he had been with the product from the start” and plus he is the son of Yash Chopra. So maybe he can do a great job as a director.
Anyways, lets just wish him luck!

well in that case,even abhi can direct the movie,in either case the film will turn out to be dabba

We cant say with surity if Udya can be a good director or not.Its only after the movie releases we can give a fair opinion.

Great news. Its confirmed that along with uday chopra that aishwariya, aamir khan, sharukh khan,Koena mitra, rani mukherji,bipasha bashu,john abraham, abhishek bachan, Hrithik Roshan,and kareena kapoor will all be in the film. The film continues from where it ended in dhoom 2. Based on the news, John abraham,Hrithik Roshan,sharukh khan and aishwariya rai will be playing as an villian.They will all work as a team. Aamir khan(wife kareena kapoor), uday chopra (wife bipasha basu),abhiskek bachan (wife koena mitra. The story is going to be all action. Its coming by the end of 2009.
