Aamir’s tonsure will have to wait two weeks; Ghajini delayed
You’ll have to wait a little longer for the release of Aamir Khan’s next, the Hindi remake of Ghajini. Because of the arrest of Ghajini director A R Murugadoss’s arrest in Chennai, the film’s shooting has been postponed for the next two weeks.
Wait for it
An industry source says, “The film was meant to go on the floors in the past week. Since the controversy, the makers have pushed back the next shooting stint for two weeks. That also means Aamir’s going bald for the film has also been pushed back. This is the schedule where he was required to sport a bald look.”
“A R Murugadoss was falsely accused and incarcerated in Chennai after the film’s original producer Salem Chandrashekhar lodged a complaint against him. The director however was released on personal bond that very day,” says the source.
However Madhu Varma, one of the producers of the remake told us, “The so-called controversy is a case of someone playing mischief. We bought the all-India rights of the film as soon as it released four years back and paid the original producer a handsome sum.
This is not the first time we are using the rights of the film. We have already released a Telugu dubbed version of the film three years prior to the Murugadoss’ arrest. Why didn’t the original producer make any noise earlier?”
“There is a simple reason behind this outburst. Salem has made some disappointing films in the recent past, which have all bombed badly at the box office.
He is bankrupt and is trying to make some money out of this.” When quizzed about the delay, Madhu simply said, “We are on schedule and shooting is in progress in Dubai. As far as Aamir’s going bald is concerned, that will take some time.”
