The grand event of the 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards has started at Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai. As things are happening at the venue, we are bringing to you the live updates of the event.

Award function begins…
The award ceremony has just started and the crowd is waiting for a splendid evening ahead! As the stars arrive, food and wine have started to flow. The palate includes red and white wine.

Coming home to Filmfare
Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle have arrived. Twinkle who is wearing a black dress is not worried about Akshay’s onstage performance as he has performed on stage many times in the past. Dimple Kapadia enters wearing a white and golden sari. Ritesh Deshmukh enters. He hopes that Shah Rukh Khan wins an award for Chak De India. Funny man Vinay Pathak has just entered and even Tabu seems all excited. “Coming to Filmfare is like coming home. I have come here to enjoy himself”, said she.

“Musician overshadows the singer in me” - A R Rehman
An excited A.R. Rehman says, “I am happy for being nominated in the playback singer category otherwise the music director overshadows the singer in me. Even though I have won several Filmfare awards, I am excited about this year’s Filmfare”. Minissha Lamba enters in a red sari which is created by Anjali and Arjun Kapoor.

“I am not sure if I will win”- Darsheel Safari
Kunal Khemu, Deepika Padukone and Rahul Dev enter. Kunal Khemu is expecting Kareena Kapoor to win the award. Deepika Padukone is wearing a stunning black Gauri and Nainika creation. The only jewellery she is wearing is long earrings. Says Deepika, “Filmfare is most promising. I do not expect to win an award. If I do I will give a spontaneous speech. Taare Zameen Par star Darsheel Safari says, “I am not sure if I will win. But I want to thank all the people who liked me voted for me.”

Jagmohan Mundra has entered too, secretly hoping he won’t provoke the media to ask him for bytes! (We are just kidding)

Himesh is a hit!
The highlight of the evening is Himesh Reshammiya! As always this man is indeed the centre of attraction with his ‘flowing locks and no-hat look’!

Hotties making a statement!
Kunal Kapoor looking smashing in his curly locks has made an entry and what has caught our attention is his stylish black suite! “It’s sad that we men don’t have much options in terms of fashion”, quipped Kunal.

Poonam Dhillon wearing an off-white Churidar Kurta and a pearl necklace has entered. Shreya Ghoshal is looking a million bucks too. Kunal Kohli has entered with Ad man Prasson Joshi. Sex siren Udita Goswami looking drop dead gorgeous in a blue colour gown has also made a stunning arrival.

Stars walk in
The couple in question has finally arrived and is looking stunning as ever. Kareena sporting a white and red Manish Malhotra sari has walked in arm in arm with Saif. Viveik Oberoi has entered too. Tabu is the next to grace the red carpet. Ravi Chopra has entered with his wife. Yash Chopra has entered with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali.

Who’s wearing what?
A black tie event that it is, Filmfare has never looked so smashing before! The very stylish Karan Johar has walked in sporting a black suit and a diamond cross across his neck, keeping with his suave look. Kumar Mangat has arrived with his gorgeous wife, expecting a great evening ahead. TZP actor Tisca Chopra is looking smashing in her bottle green sari! Alka Yagnik is dazzling in a red sari. Gauri Khan as sophisticated as ever walked in grabbing all eye balls in a strapless satin silver off shoulder evening gown while Karisma Kapoor impeccably dressed in a white sari has entered with hubby Sanjay Kapur.

Filmfare is equivalent to Oscars! - Neil
Gul Panag, Arshad Warsi and Maria Goretti are the first ones to grace the red carpet. Karan Johar and Neil Nitin Mukesh arrived on time for Filmfare and were full praises for the event. “Filmfare are the most archived awards”, said Karan while hottie Neil Mukesh who made a grand entry, (sporting a Narendra Kumar Ahmed black suit) with his proud parents said, “Filmfare is the Oscars of Hindi cinema. It’s special for me as I have been nominated. I am also performing for the very first time at an award function! Kjo as always supported his dear friend SRK and said, “I wont be surprised if SRK wins the Best Actor trophy.”

SRK and Saif on horseback but not brokeback
The co-hosts of the 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards, Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan are expected to make a stylish entry this year too. The duo will be dressed in cowboy attire and will enter riding white horses. The duo have been pulling gay gags since quite some time now and this time their entry line is “We are back on horsebacks, but not brokeback.” With an entry like this, we can be assured that the duo is all ready to give the audience a laugh riot as the evening proceeds. Co-hosting the event with the duo will be the very beautiful Vidya Balan.

When SRK hugged Akshay…
It happened just before the Filmfare Awards. The Khiladi was practicing for his LIVE performance with the Shiamak Davar troupe, when Shah Rukh entered, and the two ‘heroes’ greeted each other with a warm tight hug. One would think that with Akki proving to be SRK’s greatest competition these days, there would be cold vibes. But everything seems to be loooovely and warrrrrm on this Filmfare night!
