Doggone it!

Arshad Warsi shoved eggs into his pants to get a dog to bite him, but the dog wouldn’t budge. He loved him too much!

While shooting for Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4, directed by Jaideep (Raja) Sen, a scene required a dog to bite or rather ferociously pull Arshad Warsi’s pants and the mayhem that followed had the entire unit in splits. Apparently, Arshad befriended the dog and the dog therefore refused to bite him no matter how hard the actor tried.
Our sources say, “The crew had a tough time shooting for that scene because the first dog they had hired died due to sickness. Luckily they hired another dog from the trainer but this second dog loved Arshad so much that he refused to pull at or bite Arshad. The crew even put egg yolk in Arshad’s pants but to no avail. Finally, they had to use a body double to attract the dog to complete the sequence.”
Jaideep Sen says, “Yeah, that was one very tricky shot as the dog liked Arshad Warsi so much that he simply refused to bite him, in spite of attaching egg and meat pieces in the pants. It was quite amusing, as we had to shoot the sequence with my assistant, Ajeet. I shot Arshad’s expressions and the dog separately. The most important reason for this was that I didn’t want to waste Irrfan and Rajpal’s time, who were also in the shot. At the end of the day, it was a stray dog and how much ever you train them, we get their attention for a very short time. Once they are diverted, you can’t do anything about it. I must say that it required a lot of patience to can the scene.” Well it’s a dog eat dog world they say.
