Who’s the bigger Khan: Aamir or SRK?
Both Aamir Khan [All About Aamir] and Shah Rukh [All About SRK] Khan pulled out all stops to promote their home productions last year, and though SRK seemed to have topped the box-office charts in 2007, Aamir seems all set to reign showbiz in 2008.
Aamir’s forthcoming film, a remake of the Tamil thriller Ghajini [Southern star Asin in Ghajini] has reportedly already made Rs 90 crore.
According to reports, the Indian Film Company has bagged the domestic distribution rights for the Aamir Khan-starrer for an estimated Rs 53 crore. While its home video rights, overseas rights and satellite rights have been sold for another Rs 40 crore. Which brings the grand total to Rs 93 crore.
“With Aamir at the helm we are convinced that Ghajini [Ghajini rolls, Hollywood style] will be one of the biggest films of 2008, so it’s a fair deal for us,” CEO of TFC Advisors, Sandeep Bhargava said.
Until now, the record for pre-release movie rights was for King Khan’s Om Shanti Om, which was Rs 73 crore. The reported record price that Ghajini has fetched now puts Aamir one notch above Shah Rukh Khan as both actor and producer.
While Shah Rukh’s Om Shanti Om [OSO at the Berlin Film Festival] has made over Rs 90 crore in its 15th week, Aamir’s Taare Zameen Par [OUT NOW! Filmfare nominations] has already made Rs 85 crore in its eighth week. This despite the fact that Aamir’s film was considered a more niche product.
“The number of prints that we released for TZP is just 470 as opposed to 800 plus prints of most blockbusters. Yet, the film stayed on the sheer basis of its merit,” head of distribution, PVR, Gaurav Verma said.
So while Shah Rukh Khan’s overpowering presence everywhere makes him the more popular star, it looks like, Aamir Khan’s saleability justifies his reported asking price of Rs 7 crore for a film.

You have to base any claims you make on facts. Otherwise they’re just empty claims.
Aman I don’t think that many would concur with you. OSO was a substandard product, not as good as TZP, and still its rocked every film market of the world. It was the first movie which showed the power of Bollywood to the snobbish west. Berlin just rubber stamped it.
So for me Aamir needs a well made product, whereas all Shahrukh needs is his name.
So if your question is who is bigger Khan???? dude I guess I don’t need to tell you explicitly.
This article has different numbers from BOI. They say that TZP grossed 85 CR when in BOI, they say it grossed 56 CR.
tzp has earned only 56 crore. it is just a supr hit , far behind than blockbuster. ghajini will be another mangal pandey.

totally agree..i live here in uk so let me tell you one thing about people in here…they will only give importants to something or someone only if they know that they will gain profit from it…so they put SRK’s statue because they knew that will gain alot of profit from it and they did…. therefore they put salman’s wax statue within a year of SRK’s because of the profit they got by placing SRK’s wax statue there…and another thing they will only see the popularity of a person so in case of SRK we all fans had bombarded their webstie with countless mails that we want SRK in the madam tusauds…in fact let me tell you guys one important thing…when they put ash’s statue in there, they said on a show that they were going to put SRK’s because of the public demand but because ash was going to become the new so-called hollywood actress because of her beauty and that film she did with indian british director thats why they put her’s first…so guys this proves it who is the king and whose loved by the pople more…he must be a great actor thats why people love him to bits…got it!!!
