COMFIRMED: Aditya Chopra’s next ‘Rab ne bana di Jodi’ with SRK and new girl!

The wait is over. Eight years after he last directed a film, Aditya Chopra is back helming a Yash Raj Films production.

Even as his directorial debut “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” continues its record breaking run in its 13th year, Aditya is ready to direct his third film.

After directing his second film, “Mohabbatein”, back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India’s first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced such blockbusters as Dhoom, Dhoom:2, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Salaam Namaste, Fanaa and Chak De India. While Aditya was the creative producer in all these films, he also kept up with his creative juices by writing his father Yash Chopra’s directorial venture Veer-Zaara in 2004, as well as the stories of other films.

Aditya’s third directorial venture will be titled RAB NE BANA DI JODI, and will star the formidable Shahrukh Khan… indeed the jodi of Adi and SRK will once again be a treat for film audiences the world over.

Aditya will introduce a new girl opposite King Khan in RAB NE BANA DI JODI. The hunt for a new girl is currently in progress.

The film, to be produced by Yash Chopra, will be written and directed by Aditya Chopra. Shooting for the film will commence in May and RAB NE BANA DI JODI will release by the end of 2008.

    SRK WILL ONLY GROW BIGGER WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME.
    I am sure the story, direction, cherography, cinemaphotography will be great and DON’T WORRY ABOUT acting becoz KING KHAN HEY NA.

    After a gap of eight years i thought Adi would have made a much bigger film, as in a multistarrer with srk being in the lead. Just wished kajol was opposite srk with music from Jatin-lalit, then the film would have been an all time blockbuster. Anyway its a horrible time for all the Bachchanist and hrtihik roshan fans.

    I meant that i was under the impression that Adi’s Next will be Dhoom 3 with Srk and Amir Khan (with srk being the lead and amir being like Abhishek). Obviuosly i didnt mean that this film is small by any means and it will outgross Tashan, Jodha-Akbar and Ghajini this year. I was refering to Kajol not Karan Johar, becuase Dilwale Dulhanya Le Jayenge was an All Time Blockbuster, mainly becuase of their huge chemistry, and given that this is a love story, kajol and srk wouldve rocked

    I wish they take Madhuri in this movie. YRF people should correct their mistake, which they did with Aaja Nachle, by giving Madhuri a well-deserved good script and director. They made a mess with Aaja Nachle where the direction and editing was very poor. I think only if Aditya Chopra or Yash Rajji himself direct their movies, they will do wonders at the box office. And also Madhuri-Shahrukh makes a very good pair.

    I hope they choose Shankar-ehsan-loy. also the dickheads at naachgaana, like Satyam, have already started saying that this film is not presitgious and Abhi’s Delhi 6 is more prestigious. Dont be surprised if they start to use IBOS-network to downgrade the film’s BO performance. The annoucement of this film is killing the likes of Satyam, ILG and Jayshah at NG

    SRK has time and again worked with new comers and has let them bask in recognition. Once again, he’s gonna do that with RNBDJ……
    Looks like Adi wants to bring back YRF the sheen it’s lost in the recent past. And, like was the case with Mohabbatein, he’s turned to the most reliable (box-office wise too) star to help him achieve that. All we can say is, smart work Adi!

Because all of us know that Adi has a great taste for music which is quite obvious from his earlier masterpieces like DDLJ and Mohabbatein both of these were all time classic albums.

    I think it will be S-E-L or V-S. Personally i would love to see ARR to direct the music of RNBDJ. I dont think ARR ever compose music of an outright love story earlier in his career. I dont have any idea abt his tunes for such a flick but i’m sure he will be equally good in this genre too or even surpassing his earlier works of his ‘own’ genres.
    But i also know that this is nearly impossible to take ARR as a music director by Adi.

    I dont thnk they ll opt for VS,bcoz their style is to make catchy songs , like instant hit

    I never said that Dilli 6 or Drona will release on Oct 24. Oct 24 is close to Diwali, and there is always a movie clash. OSO-Saawariya, Don-Jaan E Maan, etc.

    For pure speculation, my guess for an Eid-Diwali release along with RNBDJ would have to be Aamir’s Ghajini remake. Now if that happens, then this would be the mother of all battles! It won’t be a lopsided affair like Don-Jaaneman or OSO-Sawaariya!! But don’t think that would happen, for Srk and Aamir are more mature, level headed than an ego maniac thaddi wala!!

    And as for the music director, don’t be surprised if Adi chooses a new composer too! The sounds of S-E-L and ARR are beginning to sound too familiar and same. Or he might go the VZ way of selecting some unheard magical compositions.

    I thnk Many ll feel Rab na is much better dan Ghajini not interms of quality but appeal,Srk in this genre much better actor and Aditya is much better director dan any new director

    May be Ganjini have few postive points like its diff , Its a remake of hollywood classic….etc

    Memento Is in TOP 25 hollywood movies,even im not sure how it ll be done ,i thnk Ghajini is more of Tamil Remake thn Memento

    The film will definitely create magic but the music this time might not be as good as it used to be for YRF, Salim-Sulaimaan won’t do justice to the big film. I wished if Pritam or Vishal-Sekhar would have done the musical score for the movie.
