very interesting mate….

although i dont agree with some of ur choices like best critic movie “guru” no it should definetly be chak de and best movie in popular catagory should be OSO…and also i dont agree with ur choice for best actor in negative role…it should be arjun rampal 4 OSO (although i dont even knw the guy who u think shud get the award for this catagory)…and hw can u 4get 2 mention Sukhwinder sing’s name for best singer catagory??? He shud not only b nominated but shoud definetly get the best singer for dard-e-disco..

here is my list of ppl who i think shud get the award in each catagory n mind it that i am not being baised…

Best movie = OSO (without a doubt)

Best director = farah khan (OSO) / shimit amin (CDI)

Best actor = SHAHRUKH KHAN (OSO)

Best actress = i am not sure about this 1 might be madhuri 4 aja nachle

best actor in supporting role = shreyas (OSO)

best actress in supporting role = not sure about this 1 of the main girls in chak de

best music = OSO ( without a doubt)

best male singer = sukhwinder sing (dard-e-disco)

best female singer = shrerya goshal (yeh ishq hai)

best male in comic role = Govinda (partner)

best actor in negative role = arjun ranpal

best critic movie = CDI (without a doubt)

best critic actor = SHAHRUKH KHAN (CDI)

best critic director = shimit amin (CDI)

best debutant actor = havnt seen sawariya so not sure if ranbir deserves it

best debutant female = deepika without a second thought

Bhool Bhulaiya deserve nothing. It has only one popular track i-e title track and that is too only time-pass entertainer nothing more. Overall, its music is a big let-down both in terms of commercial as well as quality aspect. As for nominating it in Best film category is concerned, i think u’ve a very good sense of humour Raj.

your list is quite exhaustive.Only few points to be observed:-

1)In the best movie nominations, saawariya may be replaced by either of these, not necessarily in that order:-

life in a metro,bheja fry,dhamaal,shootout at lokhandwala,black friday.

2)In the best dirctor nominations, bhansali may be replaced by either of these :-

Apurba lakhia for shootout,sagar ballary for bheja fry,anurag kashyap for black friday.

3)Sanjay dutt may be added for best actor nomination for shootout.

4)Shreyas talpade may be added for best supporting actor nomination for oso.

5)Kiron kher may be added for best supporting actress nomination for oso.She may actually win it.

6)The race for best actor in comic role is really tough this year.Add two more actors johny lever and paresh rawal for “Fool n final”, competition only gets tougher.

Koushik: If i’ve enough liberty to choose 10 to 15 entries in a category, then surely ur choices would also be under-consideration. But as i was restricted to choose only 5 or 6 entries, so i think i’ve chosen the best amongst the lot. By the way, thanks for ur suggestion and personally i like all those characters/movies u mentioned. Also want to reminding u that my list was based on Filmfare Awards, particularly.

From ur list, if i’ve to be chosen the best then i think:

Life in a Metro is a good choice in Best Movie category but as i was restricted to a certain limit so could’nt include it. May be i’m little biased towards Saawariya becoz it was my personal favourite.

But I was neither convinced with either of the directors u mentioned nor Sanjay Dutt’s performance in Shootout At Lokhandwala (a simple role with an ordinary performance) in Best Director and Best Actor category respectively.

Again Shreya Talpade may also be under-consideration but he has to face a very tough competition to get a place in the particular category. Same is the case with Kirron Kher for OSO.

Sukhwinder may get the advantage of a Patriotic song but there is nothing exceptional in that song, very plain and simple.
K.K. Menon was brilliant in both Black Friday and Life in a Metro. And Black Friday is, no doubt, the best of the best but even getting Best critics award for it is very difficult. Arjun Rampal was also very good as a villain but Pawan was just outstanding in BF, so there would be a tie b/w these two. I, personally feel that Best Comic award should be given to Govinda for Partner, but Akshay has a phenomenal year, so he should beg atleast one award, which can be no other than Best Comic Actor award.

Thanks, and good to know u liked all the films I mentioned.

However, I can even add even “tara rum pum” (apart from the films I already mentioned) which was almost a decent viewing….to the list above “saawariya” there at the list.You are too classy while choosing a film “saawariya” for filmfare award.May be it is a modern art.May be it is a poem, rather than a story.

Sanjay Dutt, as the Assistant Police commissioner, with his bold and strong personality suits the role best in Shootout and takes over from where he left in “Mission kashmir”.He slips into the character he plays…cannot imagine anyone else playing this part with such ease like he has.He looks quite the tough authority which a top police officer would like to have. His dialogue delivery,screen presence and body language is a treat to watch.He easily dominated bachchan in every scene.He should choose more of this type of role …rather than bhai roles.

Director apurva lakhia’s characterization was perfect in shootout. He also managed thrilling shoot out for half an hour at the end…..Except for minor glitches here and there of course..it was a gripping story telling.

Director sagar ballary made brilliant debut with bheja fry..and he takes the credit for screenplay also….considering it was an adaptation from a french film.

Aks: there are so many popular song this year like Dard-e-disco, Bhool Bhulaiyaa (title track), Deewangi Deewangi, Mauja Hi Mauja … and the list is going on and on and on and Sukhwinder’s song is not more popular than those i state. But as i said earlier he may get benefit for being a part of patriotic song.

Guys, i add Madhuri’s name in Best Actress category. Fenil: its for u though my rating for her performance is ‘Above Average’ at best but she is better than some other actresses in the list. As there is no such solid performance by any female lead this year, so most of the entries in this category are just for ‘Khana Puri’ like Shilpa, Madhuri and Rani. However Vidya, Kareena and Aish are truely capable of atleast considering for nomination.
Also the Best Music category require some modification as some good albums like TZP, DK and KKC releases. So, i upgrade this section too after a while looking at the boxoffice performance of these movies’ and their music.

Madhuri performance develops in my mind gradually. I think her character requires two or three times more to go through the movie. And yeah, TZP may surprise. From promos, it looks promising but its problem is that its only for very tiny section of audiences, i may be wrong and hope so.I expect it to be work in the same way as KMG.
