Box-office winners of 2007

T’is definitely the season to be jolly, but in Bollywood its time to draw out the report cards to see what’s worked and what hasn’t. This year too Bollywood has retained its low hit rate. Out of the 105 mainstream releases, only 17 have found success at the box-office. We tell you which those lucky few were.

Guru - January 12, 2007

Guru was the master South filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s gift to Bollywood. Guru was the earliest successes of 2007.

The movie is about the personal journey of one common man to becoming the most powerful man in the country. It was said that the central character was based on Dhirubai Ambani.

The film also saw the onscreen alliance of the now-married Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan.
