Akshay - star of 2007 or SRK ???

till now i thought it was SRK with 2 blockbusters was the star of the year …
but analyse this
even last year hrithik gave 2 blockbusters
but to give 5 complete hits from last dec 2006 to this dec
and that too 2 hits .. then 2 superhits … now 1 superhit or blockbuster ..
this year completely belongs to Mr.Akshay Kumar ..
if there was no welcome i wud have said SRK is the star .. but as welcome came and conquered the BO its an akki year ..
because all his hits were hits in india as well as overseas
SRK’s CDI was not a good hit overseas ..
so odds r against srk ..
and i say Akshay is the star of 2007

Don’t think rubbish like this, bcoz there is far defferent between bullet and missile. You know OSO and CDI are missile and Namaste London, Hey Babby, BhulBhulaiya and welcome are just bullets. If you want to talk about quality CDI and OSO both are milestones of bollywood these films can’t be compared with any of the films of Akki.

very well said…yeah i do agree that akshay has given four hits in a row but look @ the quality of those movies…n mind you guys SRK gave 2 blockbusters out of which 1 of them is the biggest blockbuster…so hw can the year belong to akshay??? yeah he may be second to SRK this year but mind it only box office wise…otherwise SRK rocked it..
hey when people say chak de was not a hit overcies..why not???? if you guys go n look at the total figures of jab we met and chak de in UK n USA, you will see that chak de earned same amount of money as jab we met, then why people are calling jab we met a big hit overcies n not chak de…i think its because it didnt do as much businessas as SRK’s other movies in overcies thats why…but chak de has gained a hit status in overcies..

Dude welcome is not gettig as much money as OSO n the public reviews for welcome are soooo bad..it worked only because it released in eid, chrismiss n holiday time…n there was no movie b4 that thats why it worked…n mind you it wont be a blockbuster…

Akshya has a tremandous year for sure.
SRKs two movie hace collected a total of 235 Crore wheras AKs 4 movies have collected 310 crore.
SRKs avg collection per movie is approx 118 cr where as for AK its 62 cr.
BO wise SRK is no 1 this year and acting and quality of movie wise there is no compettition.CDI is the best movie of the year.

Far, Welcome did not and will not come close to breaking OSO’s record in India or in the Overseas. None of Akshay Kumars usual films have come close to CDI’s total gross, which was SRK’s different film. Also OSO broke D2 record even when Saawariya released together! SRK had delievered the two highest grossing blockbusters this year, with OSO being the Highest grossing film in Indian film history. Therefore the year can only belong to srk!

Srk gave two blockbusters:
1) OSO - 86 cr Nett
2) CDI - 64 cr Nett
Average Nett = 75 cr
Akki gave 1 hit and 3 superhits including Welcome.
1) Welcome - 60-70 cr Nett (Estimate)
2) Bhool Bhulaiyaa - 54 cr Nett
3) Heyy Babyy - 51 cr Nett
4) Namastey London - 35 cr Nett
Average Nett = 51 cr (Taking Mid of Welcome estimated range i-e 65 cr)
So, Srk is clearly outshines Akki with a margin as long as Indian box office is concerned.

Mr Khuram first of all happy New year and secondly iam not pagal bcoz if iam pagal than all the critics, the media, the directors , the people who have watched and praised Taree Zameen Par are pagal 2. TZP was by far the best movie of 2007 and Aamir is the best right now.

Dudes…why are you fighting? SRK is fine actor but if you notice constructively the banners of the movie both actors worked, you ll come to find that SRK was having big weightage because of the production houses behind him and much much media hype…. had OSO been a 50% of the actual, it would have generated nearly same revenues as it had now…also considering the time of its release and also where Sawariyaa crashed heavily so oso business was must…but Akki’s banners were relatively small but the movies worked just because of his increasing fan base… Behind CDI was Yashraj so I ll say this year belongs to Akshay…

haha….even partner is a blockbuster but that doesn’t mean govinda is number one or sallu. see the consistency of akshay kumar……four consecutive successfull movies.
and in no way i am here to talk about SRK’s acting skills. in chak de he was gud….thats it!!! you frst decide on which parameter u wanna judge akshay and srk this year?

Let me ask you guys, how many in Bollywood (the people who make movies), do you think, give any credit to anyone besides SRK for the success of a SRK movie ?
After giving some thoughts to the above, ask yourself, how many in Bollywood DO give credit to others besides Akshay Kumar for the success of movies which coincidently also star Akshay Kumar.
The difference in the two answers is all you need to know.
Having said that, let me also say that if Akshay Kumar manages to have two or three additional years with such super performance (while SRK just tanks, not absent, but tanks) than regardless of who else also shares the credit along with Akshay, he will be regarded as number 1. Unfortunately, presently, he is just a flash in the pan.
Presently SRK does not even have to have the biggest hit or the most hit to retain his title. He merely has to be above average. The momentum of 15 years of consistent success will kepp him at the number 1 spot.
Hence guys let barking dogs, bark. If they had any shame then their past positions would prevent them from saying anything. Ask these guys what happened to Saaboreiya ? or to RGV ? or to the Bachchans ? The fact is, SRK made turned them into a footnote.

I love Akshay Kumar..he is one entertainer! But 2007 was SRK’s year for sure.
Akshay has acted in comedies only, but SRK did 2 diff genre movies..so all credit to him. and not to forget he is one terrific actor.

Yeah as far as consistency is concerned SRK is way above AK because SRK is delivering hits on regular basis from past so many years.AK has good year of 2007.But with the projects in line ,both SRK and AK is expected to give consistent hits atleast for next 3 years.

well.. there are no report cards when ot comes to stars.. or that they are judged within certain 12 month period.. whereby a hit in dec 2006 doesn’t count but hit in jan 2007 would. It’s a continuos cycle.. and though theree are critical periods.. they’re not merely defined within a few months.
if Akshay has had 4 consecutive hits (dont care whether all came within 2007), SrK is coming off 4 bigger ones… 2 hits and 2 blockbusters (Kank, Don, CDI and OSO) and not to mention the deiversity there. a joharist love story, an action thriller, a sports-based drama and the masala reincarnation with a throwback theme… all within a 16 month period. Take that..

I will go with dear shah i know that aki have given more hitsw film than ever but comparing aki and shah films then shah roles in chak de was really challenging and oso it was also the big hit so that year was of shah and thia year will be of shah.
