Akshay Kumar’s dare devilry
| December 15, 2007 4:57:45 PM IST Bollywood Trade News Network |
Megastar Akshay Kumar has always been associated with dare devil stunts, whether jumping from sky-scrapper or hanging from a helicopter to rescue damsel in distress, he has done it all.
But in a role reversal for his forthcoming blockbuster WELCOME, Akshay is rescued by Katrina Kaif!
In a very whacky scene in the film Akshay jumps into the fire to save Katrina Kaif, but he is so afraid of the fire that he faints. Katrina then literally had to lift Akshay and get him out of the fire.
Says producer Firoz Nadiadwala, “Anees Bazmi, the director had conceived the particular hilarious scene. In fact whilst shooting for the scene, we were apprehensive of Akshay jumping inside the fire since it was risky.
But Akshay being Akshay just jumped inside the fire. He even got his right hand burnt but he didn’t tell us. We got to know about it once the shooting was over.”
WELCOME is Akshay Kumar’s last comedy of the year after a string of consecutive hits starting with NAMASTE LONDON, HEYY BABYY and BHOOL BHULAIYA.
WELCOME is slated to release on Dec 21st 2007. Bollywood’s HIT MACHINE is on a roll!

Surviving in the Khan’s World with consecutive hits NAMASTE LONDON, HEYY BABYY and BHOOL BHULAIYA is not a joke, Akshay Kumar’s lasting career still exists when his contemporary Sunil Shetty is waiting in pavilion for his inning, AKKI is still not out

CONTD…
NL was hit bcoz it was packaged brillantly - Hey Baby & BB && ..many others did well at BO they were entertaining movies
So the trend is with comedy not with Akki

correct AksFilmi, Akki was definitely ahead of Sunil Shetty, same like Anil Kapoor was with Jackie Shroff. they all were contemporary.
I meant there must be something in their choices of movies, luck or love of their fans that Akshay Kumar survived till date even in the competing world with almost Four Khan around and kept his status intact, Sunil Shetty failed to maintain that.
likewise Still,Anil Kapoor Survived somehow, Jackie Shroff lost his known star power.
Soldiers fight but the Major takes the credit, as it is, the whole lot of artiste and technicians work hard to make a movie success but most of the time its only the hero who steals the show.
End of the day, its the result sheet that is counted.. who scored what, and Akshay scored more than passing marks.

I used the words ‘almost four khans world’ because the latest ‘khan power’ status holder Saif Ali Khan had usually played second fiddle to Akshay Kumar in most of past movies.
