Shah Rukh Khan apologizes to veteran Manoj Kumar
Om Shanti Om not only created fireworks but also provoked some anger from the veteran actor Manoj Kumar.
However, Shah Rukh Khan tendered his apologies to Manoj Kumar for the sequence in the film. Shah Rukh Khan commented that he is ready to remove the scene from the film if the actor desired. Manoj Kumar had threatened legal action for the spoof and was hurt at the way he had been portrayed in the film.
The film also has a comic take on many other actors and filmmakers from 70s, current generation of Bollywood and even a hilarious spoof on South Indian films. Interestingly, Manoj Kumar has not yet seen the film. Shah Rukh and Farah together apologized to Manoj and maintained that the spoof was not done to hurt anyone.

Who is Manoj Kumar? What was his reputation? Is he bigger star than Srk or Aamir? Is he more honorable than stars like Srk or Aamir. If they dont react at their humiliation in different other movies then who r u to react? And by the way, i dont feel they present him in an abrupt manner intentionally, it’s only for a good humour, nothing more.
Dont u see in Partner, how they insult Srk’s character in Don, presented him as ‘Chota Don’, hitting him in a subduing manner. Dont u see how they treat Aamir’s character in RDB by abasing him, in the scene where Salman Khan sitting with the kid watching movie in cinema.
The fact is that this person named Manoj Kumar only wants cheap publicity or there is nothing with his so-called dignity.

I dont thnk Manoj Kumar wants Cheap publicity - He has no connectn with Indian Cinema - As his image is - he cant digest Indian Comedy or the humour that was in OSO - May be he has felt bad
N Mate - I thnk Manoj Kumar is one of the finest actor/producer/director of his times - he is one of the actor who gave 3 consecutive best - all time blockbusters

Mate this is true that he was not a big star but he was a person who really loves his country and ppl like u can only abuse him, what Farah and SRK did in Main hoon naa?? They just want to sell their movies to Pakistani in abroad, nothing bad about it but ppl should understand and maintain some dignity to such a patriotic person

Sameera ji, how would u know he loves his country more than other stars like Srk or Aamir. Is he ur father, brother, husband or boyfriend who informed u secretly. And for whom Paki u talking abt, there is no Paki here in this blog. And may be he loves this country more than us or more than other stars, but the question is why he’s over-reacting over a non-issue. Do the other bigger stars like Srk and Aamir have no self-respect. Then why dont u protest while humiliating them at various times in different movies. Why u present a non-issue as a communal matter.
Just grow up My dear. As Srk and Farah already clarified many times that there was no intention to defame him, and that scene was just for good humour, thats all. But this so-called patriotic person deliberately prolonged the non-issue for his secret causes.

This is what “International Reporter” has to say:
Irrespective of what Manoj Kumar, Bollywood Bharat and star of the yester years and his supporters’ bitter feelings about Sharu’s Om Shanti Om, where he claims to have been hurt, it is important to bring to his attention on his own film ‘Kalyug Ki Ramayan’, wherein he had insulted Hanuman Ji.
There were several cases against him and one of them was Swamy Raj Baldev, who filed a case against him in New Delhi, on behalf of Academy of Krishna Philosophy for banning the screening of his film ‘Kalyug Ki Ramayan’.
However, Manoj Kumar managed to purchase some advocate to delay the proceedings, so that he could continue screening his picture in cinemas in Delhi and New Delhi.
We requested Swamy Raj Baldev to see the picture ‘Om Shanti Om’, and comment. He concluded that the case of Manoj Kumar is just a case of jealousy, since the picture was not serious but an entertainer. As regards the pointer to Manoj Kumar, it was just a character and not actual Major Kumar, the film has just a casual mention doesn’t mean that Major Kumar was insulted.
The grand success of this movie had naturally to make millions jealous of this unparalleled popularity and in this movie, Manoj Kumar, the star of the yester years, whom people call Bharat of Bollywood, has come out that he has been hurt and humiliated in the film and would like to sue SRK and Farah Khan, it is a big joke, he could get good publicity, which has been missing for years.
If Sharukh in a drunken state says he is Manoj Kumar, will he become the real Manoj Kumar, perhaps not, since it is just a character having a name of Manoj Kumar in OSO.
