“Saawariya is a flop and we should leave it,” Sajid Khan
It’s been a fruitful year for your family. First your film turned out to be a big hit and now your sister’s film?
“More than the success of our film OSO and Heyy Babyy I am happy because my sister is pregnant, and she’s going to be a mother soon so for me that is priority number one. However I am extremely sad that my friend and producer of Heyy Babyy , Sajid Nadiadwala lost his father and this has led to mixed reactions as Sajid and I were extremely happy that we have scored the biggest hit of the year and at the same time we were sad as he lost his father due to cancer. So now I am happy not just because my sister has made the biggest hit of the year but the biggest hit of Indian cinema. In terms of box office results ‘ OSO ‘ is number one. Can you beat it?
You have been maintaining a rather low profile during the making ‘ OSO ‘?
“I am by nature a very low profile kind of person, I move out of my house only when I have to work and I have to do any thing that is work oriented like giving an interview or for publicity for my film. Only then I move out otherwise I don’t party I don’t drink or anything, not even premiers and all.”
Every star in Bollywood made their special appearances but you were conspicuous by your absence. Didn’t Farah offer you a cameo?
“I was not in ‘ OSO ‘ because I was busy with my own film.”
Were you involved in the making of ‘ OSO ‘?
”No. I have never helped Farah with her work and at home also.” (laughs).
What do you think of ‘ OSO ‘?
It is great film; like I said earlier, it’s not just the biggest box office hit of the year but also the biggest hit of Indian Cinema.
And Saawariya ?
“I don’t think much about Saawariya , I saw it and I didn’t like it. Saawariya is a flop, and we should leave it on that. And one thing if it could have had one basic ingredient called the script and a better screen play there was some chance of its survival. The film is very well shot but still it’s an art director’s film, but still I bought a ticket and went to watch it but didn’t like it and I guess I am in the majority.”
What’s your reaction on the ongoing exchange of war of words between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah?
“I guess very honestly that it’s not much to talk about as he has made better film and this is not his final film.”
Bhansali said that he’s not comfortable making movies with 40 plus actors who removes their shirts in public?
“I think that it’s an incredibly very stupid statement. Because I guess statements are meant to sensationalize, sometimes I feel that the person who make these statements also don’t take it that seriously.”

You can never compare SLB to Farah/Sajid.Sajid has got no right to give bad publicity to any movies. Both Farah ,Sajid and SRK are very arrogant and made fun of senior actors.
SLB is one be best director in BOllywood and Saawaria is one of the best movie.. Best Newcomers for Year 2007 is Ranbir & Sonam.

Your so-called ‘quality’ movie Saa-BORE-iya has been dumped outright by the public. Most people coming out of the multiplexes/theatres are cursing the movie, it’s director, it’s cast……. Theaters and multiplexes have reduced the no. of Saa-BORE-iya shows as they’re fed up of running empty shows.Now you need to first go and check the definition of ‘quality’ and then use that word again. Don’t keep harping about quality without knowing what it means.
Now if you really want to help SLB and Saa-BORE-iya in some way, first thing you should do is start selling Saa-BORE-iya’s ticket as multiplexes and Theaters are having a tough time selling them…… Once you’ll learn how difficult
As for Farah and Sajid making fun of actors in their movies, you need a ‘quality’ sense of humour to understand what they are trying to do.
As for SLB, he has clearly shown what a pathetic director he is.
He just lives in his fantasy world where everything is larger than life and happens as he fantasizes including his latest love Vaibhavi, the choreographer.

AksFilmi: Sorry, you’re wrong here….. There’s nothing about Saa-BORE-iya that qualifies it for that legendary status. Probably, you are undermining the term’s usage. Saa-BORE-iya has clearly shown that SLB has got this one very wrong like most of his films except 2-3 of them……. Because the sets SLB put up worked in Devdas, it doesn’t mean it’ll work for all films. He banks greatly on the glossier side of movie making than movie direction in true sense. That is very clear with HDDCS and Devdas. Black is the only film where he tried to stick to his true job as a movie maker. And sets are the main thing that people have liked in Saa-BORE-iya (ok, among those who liked Saa-BORE-iya which again is a small minority). And people confuse ‘artistic’ movie with the sets designed. Now since all movie makers don’t use such sets, the novelty of it’s use make it appealing to a section of the public. And that is why they term the sets as magical…… All in all, Bhansali does good at the BO only when he sticks to making glossy films with big stars.

Quality doesnt mean good custumes and good photography.
Script has to be qualitative.

in the second week sawariya has collected 4 crore and collected a total of 24 crore.Looking at its budget of 40 crore and another 20 crore being spent by Sony on promotion,this can safely said as the second biggest flop after Aag.May be Ekalavya will come a close third in terms of dismal BO performance is concerned.
Where as OSO hasa cpllected 65 crores in two weeks in India and another 38 Crores abroad.It can safely said as the biggest hit of the year

well i am a movie buff and i like movie which entertain.But in between i always like some well made movies (artistic stuff) too.
And this is the reason i had high expectation from sawariya.
But i must say that its one of the most soulless movies i have ever seen.I must say that classic stuff doesnt mean boring and shit stuff.I have seen a lot of classic stuff which are engrossing too.
But sawariya is like taking the audience for granted.But i know some might disagree with me (very few actually).

abhi you r saying that it has gross 26 crore in week one it must be istweek + second week total gross not ist week gross

and oso had gross 40 crore openning and in second week it had gross 24 crore
so by this collections sawariya is a flop
and by the way sawariya budget is 40 crore and if it collection reach to 30 crore
then it will be average to above average not a hit not even close to hit
