Hrithik accepts offer from Brad Pitt’s management firm

 

Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, Brad Pitt’s management firm for 25 years, has recently made an offer to India’s heartthrob Hrithik Roshan to represent him in Hollywood. And he has accepted it.

“Hrithik is not in negotiations yet to do any film… but currently reviewing abundance of screen plays constantly sent to him by his new managers in Hollywood for his debut project, he is taking his time and being selective to ensure the quality of his debut film,” said Hrithik’s spokesperson from the US in a press release.

Brillstein-Grey is an industry powerhouse that represents A-list stars such as Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, Adam Sandler, and Nicolas Cage and has produced successful films like “Troy” and “The Chocolate Factory”, in addition to critically acclaimed TV shows “The Sopranos”.

The Indian superhero - approached several times by other Hollywood firms to act in films like ‘Pink Panther 2′, which he refused - has agreed to pursue Brillstein-Grey’s offers to lead him to a higher platform.

Jai Khanna, Hrithik’s international manager from Brillstein-Grey, said: “We are thrilled to be working with such an international star. As an icon of masculinity and powerful character, he (Hrithik) truly embodies the star quality of cinema’s great leading men.

“Audiences have repeatedly flocked to his films throughout India, Asia and a number of other countries. We are excited to now introduce Hrithik to the US, thus giving his unique talents a much larger platform.”

    Harry/ Hari Bhari: Brad Pitt’s company is just another agency/contracting company. It’s not some out-of-the-world thing that is worth your hue and cry (guys like you are obsessed with everything that is foreign. Moment some foreigner, especially american, says something, you guys are swept off your feet). For your information, Brad Pitt is regarded as a pathetic actor within hollywood. He is known only for his looks and now marriage to Angelina Jolie. Nobody regards him as a great actor. Most of his movies too are duds.
    Now Hrithik might have hollywood aspirations and hence his agents (the article refers to Jai Khanna) might be speaking to agents in hollywood for some roles. From such interactions, Brad Pitt’s company would’ve gotten interested.
    So don’t get carried away by such news…… And just look at the ’stars’ Pitt’s company represent: “A-list stars such as Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, Adam Sandler, and Nicolas Cage and has produced successful films like “Troy” and “The Chocolate Factory””………
    What A-list stars?? They are all pathetic stars. And see the movies it has produced? Troy was a wash-out. And “The Chocolate Factory”?? Crappy stuff…….
    All in all, there’s nothing to feel excited about….

    And then it all depends on an individual’s aspirations. Getting a hollywoood agency to endorse SRK would be the easiest thing given his popularity in the US. (This year’s ‘Time’ magazine issue of Feb 2007 rated SRK as the most popular movie star in the whole world ahead of Tom cruise and your Brad Pitt). So all this is no big deal. And SRK has mentioned many times earlier that he is not interested in hollywood at present.

    All that said, i’m happy for Hrithik (i actually like him) if he’s harboring hollywood aspirations….

    princess2aditi: you’re an addition to the blind follower syndrome i just mentioned above… Brad Pitt and good acting??? He sucks….. He’s all looks and no acting…….. First, distinguish between looks and acting……. Secondly, most of Pitt’s movies are duds. He can hardly carry off solo films……
    As for hollywood vs bollywood, hollywood has an edge mainly because of their technological edge in movie making.

    It is believed that Walt Disney Pictures, the bigwigs in the Hollywood’s entertainment business, have approached Shah Rukh Khan. When SRK was holidaying in London with his family, it is believed that representatives of the company flew down from Hollywood to meet him and strike a deal.Other international companies like Sony Pictures and Rupert Murdoch’s company have also expressed interest.So far, the actor has not confirmed anything about the deal.So one will just have to wait and watch.
