Shirish Kunder has lots to talk about. Wife Farah Khan is expecting triplets, while he’s been busy editing her next film Om Shanti Om (releasing in October).
Soon after, he’ll start work on his second directorial venture, Joker. Also, there are rumours about his much-talked-about fallout with Shah Rukh Khan. Read on.

When will you start shooting for Joker?
Pre-production work has already started. Joker will go on floors in early 2009 and will be shot in a single schedule.
Joker is a very ambitious venture being made on a mammoth scale.The film is high on special effects and stylised action sequences.
We intend to set technical benchmarks by using innovative visual treatments, somewhat like Spiderman meets 300.
What is Joker about?
Joker is a superhero action film. It deals with global warming and its consequences, but in an entertaining manner.
Right from its inception, Joker has been planned as a trilogy. Joker 2 and 3 will follow soon after.
Acquiring the title Joker was a tough task.
Yeah. The title was in possession of producer Ratan Jain. When I spoke to him, he graciously gave it to me.
But before I could start celebrating, I learnt that producers Vashu Bhagnani and Vikas Mohan had also applied for the same title.
Fortunately, they agreed immediately when I asked for their consent. Thanks to them, I’m finally free to call my film Joker.
Wasn’t Joker supposed to be your first film?
Yes. I had worked on the idea in 2003, but it was difficult for a newcomer like me to sell the idea.
Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish opened doors for superhero flicks in India, so now I’m going ahead with my dream project. Also, after Jaan-E-Mann, people take my vision more seriously.
Akshay as the protagonist…
The character demands an actor who is brilliant at action and comedy. Akshay fits the bill perfectly and we share a great equation.
Have you chosen your entire cast?
No. We need another good actor who is comfortable doing action for the negative role, and we need a female lead to be cast opposite Akshay.
SRK is not doing Joker. Was there a fallout?
Shah Rukh and I have had no fallout or showdown. He has already clarified this and I second it.
What is your gut feeling about Farah’s Om Shanti Om?
OSO is a sure-shot winner. Blockbuster!

Hey, if its not akshay who can pull an action/sci-fi movie…? Has Shahrukh been known for action………..even die hard fan of srk would say—no he is not……….but I do agree Hrithik is picking up with action and he is gud………but he does not even come close to Akshay when it comes to action……….Action is synonimous with Akshay…..
The idea of trilogy is over ambitious………..though currently Akshay is ruling box office…….but no one can acertain that joker will go well as well…..So i believe ppl are planning lot of things having Askshay in mind ust because an Akshay film would never be a disaster and surely his films would average business which means producers would get their return………
No wonder everybody would like to associate with AKSHAY BRAND….
