Wants to cash in on this new trend in Indian cinema
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is all set to take his production house to a different dimension. After making motion pictures for over a decade, Nadiadwala Grandson is now venturing into animation.
Sajid confirms, “I think we need to grow as a company and animation films are doing really well, both in India and the global market. Hence, I am planning to venture into animation films.”
For the moment though, he is extremely busy with the release of Heyy Babyy. “Animation is a time-consuming project, and my team is working on the script. I’m planning to tie up with big studios abroad and will make a formal announcement once the deal is through,” he says.
Animated moves
Considering that most production houses like Percept Pictures, Pritish Nandy Communications and Sahara Motion Pictures are venturing into animation films, Sajid’s move comes as no surprise.
Unlike Karan Johar, who is planning to make Kuch Kuch Hota Hai into an animation film, Sajid is not interested in remaking his own films.
“I’m working on original ideas and the films will be targeted at both Indian and international audiences. The films could be made in both Hindi and English,” he says.
According to our source, Sajid might remake the Salman Khan starrer Judwaa in animation. “The film has wonderful comic sequences and kids would love to see a double-role animation film.” |
