John Abraham, known for his good behaviour and humility earlier, seems to have undergone a change in attitude. And apparently even Aditya Chopra has borne the brunt of his new attitude. Aditya wanted to cast John in Shaad Ali’s Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. But John acted so pricey that Adi dropped the idea.Chopra wanted to cast him with Abhishek Bachchan, but it seems that John was not too keen on playing second fiddle in the film. “Aditya wanted to cast him in the film and asked Shaad Ali to get in touch with him. John showed interest in the project and promised to get back to him. But didn’t. After waiting for three days, Aditya Chopra realised that he was acting pricey and decided to cast Bobby Deol in the same role. Bobby always wanted to work in Yashraj Films, and he didn’t want to let go of this opportunity,” says our source.By the time John realised what he’d done, it was probably too late. He rushed to Aditya Chopra’s office, but to no avail. “Adi made John wait outside his office for more than two hours, and even after that he didn’t meet him. John realised that Adi was upset with him. He SMSed him. But now Adi has decided not to work with John for some time,” says our source.
John, our sources say, was not keen on doing the project because of Shaad’s close friendship with Abhishek. He thought that automatically more scenes would go to him. “He didn’t want to tell Shaad about that, and was thinking of meeting Aditya and clarify his stance before he signed the film, if at all he would work on the project,” says our source. Post-Kabul Express, the Chopras have decided not to work with John. But that doesn’t really harm his career professionally because he has three films lined up for this year. His forthcoming films are Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking, Nagesh Kukunoor’s Aashayein and Vivek Agnihotri’s Goal.
