Aditya Chopra is planning to return to direction after a gap of seven years. It will be a full-on action flick starring Shah Rukh Khan

If sources are to be believed, Aditya Chopra is set to get into action. He is all set to surprise fans and detractors with his next directorial venture, which falls under a genre Adi has no experience with - action. So far he has directed two films, DDLJ and Mohabbatein, which was in 2000. Currently, he is busy working on the script of his next, an action flick starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Says a source from the Yashraj clan, “Aditya Chopra has decided on Shah Rukh Khan as the lead in his next film. Right now, he is working on the script for the same. He wants to make an action-packed film and he has cast his favourite Khan, SRK, to play the lead.”

Apparently, the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised by the director for this action flick. There were rumours of Aditya planning to cast Shah Rukh and Abhishek together for his next film. But it has stayed a rumour, for obvious reasons. “So far, Aditya has finalised only on his lead hero and that is Shah Rukh.” He adds, “It’s definitely going to be a solo hero film.”

The director plans to launch the film and begin shooting by the end of this year. “All is set and Adi is planning to start shooting for the film in December. Shah Rukh has already set his dates in December aside for Adi,” says our source
