Johar is choreographing the boys’ dance at Ash-Abhi’s sangeet ceremony

Karan Johar is certainly turning out to be the MC of MCing - as in the Master of Ceremony. The director is often seen compering Bollywood award shows and has become an elocution mascot of sorts for the film fraternity. The latest feather in his extra-curricular cap is that he will now be choreographing the performance by Abhishek Bachchan’s buddies (Sikander Kher, Goldie Behl, etc) at the Sangeet ceremony, to held on April 18.

The filmmaker is close to the Bachchans and has had the opportunity to work the Big B, wife Jaya and son Abhishek Bachchan in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. “It was all decided at Jalsa, on Jaya Bachchan’s birthday on Monday. The band of boys present there came up with this idea of having a ‘boys’ fun’ theme for Ash-Abhishek’s sangeet. It was finalised that Karan Johar would choreograph the entire sequence with Rohan Sippy, Chirag Doshi, Goldie Behel, Sikandar Kher and Apurva Lakhia as the dancers,” says a source close to the Bachchan family.

Preparations for this event have begun in full swing. The entire gang meets every alternate day either at Jalsa or at Karan Johar’s residence. “Everybody has been striving hard at getting the act right,” says the source, who won’t divulge any more details because everyone has been instructed to be completely ‘off media’ by the Bachchan family. Well, this secret’s out buddies. But do dance like no one’s watching -that’s the rule of thumb we follow.
